11th Annual Hero 5K Run/Walk

HERO 5K – Race Information and Parking Details

Join us for the HERO 5K on Sunday, November 8th—an event that provides scholarships, resources, and opportunities for our student veterans. Your participation is what makes this mission possible.

Race Morning Timeline:

7:30 am: Check-in opens and Kids Village Opens 
8:20 am: Warm-up & announcements
8:30 am: 5K start
9:00 am: 1K Fun Run participants should arrive by this time (latest)
9:30 am: Robert Dyer 1K Fun Run start
9:40 am: Awards ceremonies begin right after 1K

Parking and Walking Directions

Enter Bergen Community College via the Paramus Road entrance (400 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652).
Follow signs and volunteers, driving straight through the main circle at the front of campus.
Make a right into Parking Lot A and park at the top of the lot—this area will be clearly marked for HERO 5K.
After parking, exit out the same way you entered and walk to Parking Lot C (approximately a 5-minute walk), following signs and guidance from event volunteers.

Bag drop and on-site assistance available at check-in in Lot C.

1K Fun Run Participants: Please arrive by 9:00 am at the latest. If you are delayed due to 5K runners, you can still park on the top of Parking Lot A and walk over to Parking Lot C for check-in.

Remember: The entire HERO 5K experience starts and ends with our veterans—they’re the heart of this event. Your registration helps us provide direct support to those who served.

Awards for overall top 3 male and female. Male and Female Age group awards (top 3): 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 plus

Course will be closed, marked and covered in volunteers on the day of the event.

Strollers welcome

All participants including volunteers please park on the parking deck of parking lot A. Our village (check in) will be in fount of the Buehler Challenger & Science Center, marked as building 20 on our campus map.  (about a five minute walk) 

Run/Walker: we will have a bag drop 

We will have signage directing everyone on race morning.
