Whether you’re chasing a PR, looking for a hilly 15K or soaking in the scenic atmosphere, the Bastille Day Race delivers fast competition, challenging courses, and a festive post-race celebration.

🛣️ IMPORTANT: Open Course Safety Guidelines:
The 15K Run will take place on an open course. 
This means that while safety measures will be in place, roads are not completely closed to vehicle traffic. Please review the following instructions carefully:

🚶‍♂️ 1. Run against Traffic | Left Side Road Shoulder
Runners must stay on the left side of the road (running against traffic) and use the road shoulder, sidewalks, or coned-off lanes where available.
Do not run in the middle of the road or outside designated areas.
 
⚠️ 2. Be Aware of Traffic at All Times
Vehicles may be present on the course.
Obey all traffic laws and any instructions from police or course marshals.
Use extra caution at intersections and crossings – course marshals will be at major intersections to assist, but they cannot control traffic
 
🔁 3. Yield to Emergency Vehicles
If an emergency vehicle approaches, move off the course immediately and safely.
 
🎧 4. Headphones Are Discouraged
We strongly discourage the use of headphones or earbuds on open roads so that you can hear approaching vehicles, instructions, and other runners.
 
🚦 5. Obey Marshals & Signage
Course marshals and signs will help guide you, but you are responsible for your own safety.
If a marshal signals you to stop or yield, please comply immediately.
 
🧍‍♀️ 6. No Stopping or Backtracking
If you need to stop (e.g., tie a shoe or rest), move as far to the side as you can so other runners can run by and stay on the shoulder
 
👥 7. Run Single File When Necessary
If road shoulders are narrow or vehicles are passing, run single file to allow traffic to pass safely.
 
📣 8. Be Alert, Courteous, and Safe
A safe race is a successful race. Be courteous to fellow runners, volunteers, and drivers.
Use common sense and run defensively.

🧾 What do I need for packet pickup?
Please bring a photo ID and your registration confirmation (printed or on your phone).

 
👥 Can someone else pick up my packet?
Yes! A friend or family member can pick it up for you — just make sure they have your name and confirmation.

 
🏃‍♀️ Can I walk the race?
Yes! Walkers are welcome in both the 5K Run and 5K Walk.

Please line up near the back at the start line.

 
🎧 Can I wear headphones?
Headphones are strongly discouraged, especially on open roads. It's important to stay alert to traffic, volunteers, and fellow participants.

 
👶 Can you run with a stroller?

5K Course

• We welcome parents with jogging strollers! 👶 Your child must remain securely fastened inside the stroller for the entire race — this is required for safety and insurance reasons.

15K Course

• Strollers are not allowed on the 15K Course for safety and insurance reasons.

 
🐶 Can you run with a dog?
We love dogs! 🐾 However, dogs are not allowed to participate in any of the races unless they are certified service animals.
That said — your furry friends are welcome as spectators!

 
🎽 Is there a gear check?
No, there is no gear check available. Please plan to leave any personal belongings in your vehicle.

 
🅿️ Where can I park?
There is ample public parking in downtown Fenton. It’s available on a first-come, first-served basis.

🚻 Where are bathrooms?
Bathrooms are located inside Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation. They will be available before, during, and after the race.

 
💸 Are there refunds?
No, there are no refunds unless you purchased Race Insurance during registration.
