About 2026 Don't Sit on Colon Cancer 5K & 1 Mile Walk
Stand with us as a sponsor of Sentara’s annual Don’t Sit on Colon Cancer 5K & 1 mile walk, a community-driven event dedicated to saving lives through awareness, early detection, and support for those battling colon cancer. On March 28, 2026, survivors, families, medical teams, and supporters will come together not just to move their bodies, but to move change forward.
Today, colon cancer is the leading cause of cancer in men under 50 and the second leading cause in women of the same age. Even more alarming, it is increasingly being diagnosed in younger adults, many of whom face advanced stages of the disease due to delayed detection. These realities underscore the critical need for increased awareness, education, and access to screening.
Run or walk to remember those lost, honor those fighting, and to celebrate the survivors of Colorectal Cancer throughout Hampton Roads.
Proceeds from this event directly support colorectal cancer education, increase access to screening, and provide financial assistance to patients experiencing hardship.
