2026 Firefly Trail Race Series

The Firefly Trail Race Series' mission is to raise awareness of the benefits the Firefly Trail brings to area residents and visitors by providing an annual series of running/walking events in communities along the Firefly Trail corridor. This 39-mile transportation corridor is being converted to a non-motorized rail-trail between Athens and Union Point. A safe, off-road path, the Firefly Trail will connect three counties and eight communities, offer health benefits, boost economies, and bring people together. 

The Firefly Trail Race Series continues into 2026 with six great races! Here’s a breakdown of the options and structure:

Race Series Structure:

Spring Series: Consists of three races starting in January and going through May.  (Registration available through January 10, 2026)
Fall Series: Also consists of three races starting in August and going through September. (Registration available through August 23, 2026)
Spring / Fall Series Combination: Register for all six races by registering for both the Spring Series and Fall Series.. 

This structure offers flexibility for participants to choose the series that fits their schedule or preferences, whether they prefer running in the spring, fall, or throughout the entire season with the combo option.

Pricing Structure:

Exciting news!  The pricing for the 2026 Firefly Trail Race Series will remain at 2025 pricing!

Series Fee: $67.50 for 3 races; $135.00 for 6 races; Includes race t-shirts from each race. This is a savings of at least $17.50 for the 3 race series and $35.00 for both series

Race Shirt (Optional): $5.00 discount per race t-shirt is taken at checkout if No-Shirt is selected for any race.

Additional Details:

Race Series T-shirt: Every runner automatically receives one Race Series t-shirt at no additional cost.

Finishline management and timing provided by Classic Race Services.

We get wet!  Race start time may be delayed in 15-minute increments if storms are in the area.  Sorry, no refunds due to inclement weather.
