2026 - NorthShore Inline Marathon

Founded in 1996, the NorthShore Inline Marathon is dedicated to spreading the love of inline skating and overall fitness. Every year thousands of athletes of all ages come to Duluth to participate in this one-of-a-kind event. The NSIM offers a historic route, great views, and an even better community. It has been called one of the best inline marathons in the world by countless publications and has become a tradition for many. Come join us this year for our 28th year of skating.

Our event also includes our running division, which hosts two breathtaking runs. The first is the St. Luke's Half Marathon, one of Minnesota's most beautiful half marathons. This event begins on the scenic North Shore highway, with runners making their way through the Northland woods, passing through the tunnels of Interstate 35, and finishing alongside the iconic William A. Irvin. Our second race, the Finden Marketing Tunnel 10k, offers runners a unique experience of traversing the I-35 tunnels, covering 6 miles of interstate before finishing near the William A. Irvin.

Lastly, our FinnSisu Ski Division is an emerging part of our race series. It offers roller skiers of all skill levels two options: a 42k and a 21k Rollerski. Participants can ski alongside over 2,000 inline skaters, immersing themselves in the event's lively atmosphere!

FinnSisu Rollerski Marathon

42 Kilometers | point-to-point 

Our 42-kilometer option is the classic “ski marathon.” Starting in Two Harbors, Minnesota, this race takes you along the shores of Lake Superior on the beautiful Scenic Highway. As you get closer to Duluth, the landscape changes, and the fans on the side of the road become more plentiful. Ski the famous I-35 tunnels, From there, finish with an outstanding view of the Aerial Lift Bridge. Join us at the nation's premier marathon rollerski race.

 

Marwe Half Marathon Rollerski

21 Kilometers | point-to-point

 This race is a great option for younger rollerskiers, more recreational rollerskiers, or skiers who are not looking for marathon distance competition. The 21K is race starts at the halfway mark of the 42k option, but still has the same charm. Racers still get to ski along the shores of Lake Superior on the famous Scenic Highway and I-35 tunnels. The finish line is the same as the 42k, with amazing views of the Aerial Lift Bridge that Duluth is so famous for.

Aspirus St. Lukes Half Marathon

13.1 Miles | point-to-point 

Run along the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior, on a 13.1 mi point to point course. Enjoy the same spectacular route as the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon but take the interstate (I-35) for the last 4 miles of the race. During the St. Luke’s Wheels-Off, Half Marathon runners will go through the I-35 tunnels, completely unique to our event and drop down to the St. Louis Bay to finish alongside the famous William A. Irvin freighter as fans cheer you on.

Finden Marketing Tunnel 10k Run

6.2 Miles | Circle Route

You won't want to miss the chance to run this one-of-a-kind race. The Tunnel 10k race route takes you through 6 tunnels of I-35 and will keep a spring in your step with live music. While most of the time if you are running or walking on an interstate, you are carrying an empty gas can, not during the Tunnel 10K! Our closed course allows you to run on one of the most unique race routes in Minnesota. After experiencing the rare chance to race on an Interstate, you will continue alongside the St. Louis Bay to the finish line at the famous William A. Irvin, a retired lake freighter. Join us come race day!

 

NorthShore Inline Marathon 

26.2 Miles | point-to-point 
Skate along the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior, on our 26.2 mi point-to-point course. Enjoy our spectacular route nestled through the forests of northern Minnesota. The course starts from the north shore community of Two Harbors and winds its way down to finish in Downtown Duluth. You will travel along the scenic North Shore drive and finish alongside the famous William A. Irvin freighter as fans cheer you on.

NorthShore Inline Marathon

 

26.2 Miles | point-to-point

Bringing in some of the biggest names in Inline Skating. The Elite division of NSIM is one of the top races in the world and has featured the likes of  Olympians, professional speed skaters, and NHL players. NorthShore Inline Half Marathon

13.1 Miles | point-to-point 

Go 13.1 miles from the Marathon's halfway point to the finish. Enjoy super scenic views of Lake Superior’s North Shore, skate through Duluth’s Lakeside neighborhood, and onto the I-35 Interstate Highway to the finish alongside the famous William A. Irvin freighter as fans cheer you on.

​This is a perfect race for new skaters and allows for a great taste of what our full marathon has to offer. 

NorthShore Tunnel 10k 

 

6.2 Miles | point-and-back

This family-friendly event is a non-competitive fun skate for anyone looking for less than the challenge of a half marathon. Nearly 100% on I-35 Interstate Highway, travel through six tunnels in this unique skating experience! This race finishes alongside the famous William A. Irvin freighter as a crowd of fans cheer you on.

This is a fantastic option for new skaters and offers a relatively flat race route for those who don't like skating on hills.

 

Combined NorthShore Inline

 

39.3 Miles | point-to-point 

Do you have what it takes to skate 39.3 miles in one morning? For the Combined 39.3 Miles, skaters race the half marathon, hop on the bus for a short rest, and then race the full marathon to compete for the fastest combined time.

This race is not for the faint of heart and is one of the most challenging races we offer.
