2026 Rochester River Run/Walk 5K

The 2026 Rochester River Run Returns to Genesee Valley Park on Sunday, April 19!

You can run or walk in-person or participate virtually from any location you choose. Simply pre-register for your preferred participation level using the options above.

Live 5K ~ 10:30am start

• Registration increases to $45 at 12:00 a.m. day-of race on Sunday, April 19.
• Day-of registrants are not guaranteed a race shirt!
  (size quantities are limited to first come–first serve)
  
• Day-of race registration fees are payable via credit card only.
• Cash and checks will only be accepted for donations and merchandise.
• Children are welcome to attend this family-friendly event.

Remember to pre-register by 11:59 p.m. Saturday, April 18 to receive the pre-registration rate of $35!

We hold this special event in April in observance of National Donate Life Month—promoting awareness of, and support for, the life-saving miracle of organ donation and transplant while celebrating those who have given the gift of life and those who care for the gift of life they’ve received.

We hope you can join us as we honor and celebrate our living donors, deceased donors, transplant recipients, their families, their caregivers, and our transplant team members during this deeply meaningful and reverent ceremony. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, April 13!

Your support and participation in the Rochester River Run will help hundreds of patients who come to Strong for heart, liver, kidney or pancreas transplant, and are often in need of financial assistance while awaiting and recovering from transplant surgery.

All proceeds from the Rochester River Run go toward helping our patients pay for incidental costs associated with the lifelong care transplant necessitates, such as life-saving medications and travel expenses. In addition to costly medical treatment, the need to travel – for some a great distance – adds financial strain on patients and their families.

The Rochester River Run/Walk 5K is an annual event sponsored by Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital and the hospital’s transplant teams. Learn more about our transplant programs at urmc.rochester.edu/transplant.

**Basket Winners Will Be Posted After the Ceremony**

Free parking is available in the 'Park Lot' on the University of Rochester Campus

Attendants and signage will be on hand to direct you to the "Park Lot" (Zone 3 South) located at 514 Intercampus Dr., Rochester, NY 14620.

Participants will be directed to park in the designated lot (Park Lot) on the University of Rochester campus. There will be signs posted and parking guides will be available. A map with directions is below.

Parking will NOT be allowed near the Roundhouse shelter due to the number of participants and other events being held at the park.

Road Closure: Moore Road, which leads into the park, will be CLOSED 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Please be sure to follow parking guidelines.
