About 2027 Tyler Run for Autism - 16th Annual

The Tyler Run for Autism (TRA) is a 501c3 (non-profit entity) which was founded in May 2012 by parents of children with autism. 100% of funds raised are donated to organizations who provide medical services to children with autism and to programs that promote community inclusion! Our passion is to ensure that children in East Texas receive the financial assistance they need to access quality medical treatments. TRA is a high-energy, community event for all!

Participants run/walk at their own risk and are expected to remain cognizant of any potential hazards (vehicle traffic, debris and other trip hazards, etc.) while on course. Signage, as well as police officers and other staff/volunteers will be present on the route to help direct traffic and keep motorists aware of the event in progress.

Results & Awards

Results

Results will be posted to www.itri365.com/results live every 5 minutes. Please check your finish time upon completing the course. You have 24 hours to dispute a result, but it is best to do so while the event is still in progress, before awards are announced.

Awards

Overall and age group awards will be presented. Overall awards will be scored by gun time. Age group awards will be scored by chip time. Overall award winners are also eligible for age group awards.

Top 3 Age Division Male & Female Winners receive an additional award medal! (5K & 10K only)

Registration

Q: Do I need to register my kids?

A: Yes. If your child(ren) will run or walk on their own two feet at any point on course, they need to be registered.

 

Q: My child is Autistic, do I need to register him/her?

A: Yes. There is no existing process for diagnosis verification on registration. Anyone on course participating in the race must be registered through this website. All proceeds from this race go back to the autistic community and we thank you so much for your support!

 

Packet Pickup

Q: Are there any verification requirements?

A: Yes! Please have your registration QR code ready at packet pick up. Codes are sent in registration confirmation emails and will be resent on race week to the email address used at registration.

 

Q: Can I pick up packets for others?

A: Yes, you may pick up packets for other participants so long as you have his or her registration QR code. Codes are sent in registration confirmation email and will be resent during race week. We ask that you communicate with your friends/family/teammates so that there is no confusion as to whether groups will pick up packets as individuals or if one representative will collect all race packets.

 

Q: Can I send someone to collect my packet for me?

A: Yes! He or she will need your registration QR code. 

 

Q: Can I check in on race day?

A: Yes, BUT it is not recommended if you are able to attend early packet pick up / check in. We are expecting nearly 2,000 participants this year, so it is vital that as many athletes check in early as possible. We kindly ask that all local participants check in early to allow for a less stressful race day for our out-of-town friends!

 

Q: What is VIP packet pick up?

A: It is a special, early packet pick up opportunity for our valued sponsors and 10K athletes. Details will be sent to the email address used for registration.

 

Q: Can you ship my packet?

A: No, we do not ship packets. You may send a representative to packet pickup with your QR code.

 

Course Companions

Q: Are strollers allowed?

A: Strollers, wagons, and wheel chairs are welcome. Be mindful that the 5K and 10K events are competitive races with cash prizes, so if you are walking for leisure, please line up behind our competitive runners.

 

Q: Are dogs allowed?

A: Dogs are welcome on the 5K and 1 mile course if they are leashed and monitored.  Please adhere to city ordinance regulations.

 

Amenities

Q: Will you offer gear check?

A: No. Gear check is not available.

 

Q: Where do I park?

A: There are both parking lot and street parking available at or near the race location. 

 

Medals

Q: Can you mail my finisher medal to me, or can I pick it up after the race?

A: No, medals are only given out on race day upon completion of your course. We’ll see you at the finish line!

 

Q: I didn’t know I won my age division—can my medal be mailed or picked up?

A: No, age division award medals are available at the registration table as results become available. Please be sure to check the results page before leaving on race day.

 

Refunds & Deferrals

Q: Can I defer my registration to next year?

A: No, deferrals are not allowed. Each participant must register for the year he or she plans to participate.


Q: Can I get a refund?

A: All registrations for TRA are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable. As a charitable event, 100% of race day proceeds are donated back into the community we live and serve.

 

General Reminders

  • Arrive on-site with plenty of time before your event's scheduled start time.
  • Wear your bib (number) on the front of your person on the outermost layer of clothing. Make sure that it is the bib assigned to you.
  • Line-up at the start line safely & self-aware: most elite competitors in the front, slower participants in the back.
  • Always compete in the category for which you registered. Never switch distances without alerting a race official.
  • Be aware of your surroundings, including other participants, at all times.
  • Be sure to thank a volunteer.

  • Take a selfie, post on social media, and tag us!
  • Have fun & be proud of yourself!

Tyler Police, volunteers, directional signage, and other resources will be present on course for your safety. However, it is the responsibility of each athlete to familiarize his or herself with the course as unexpected issues may arise such as sign vandalism, volunteers failing to appear, etc. Download the RaceJoy app for the best course experience!
