About 23rd Annual Run in the Park

Hermann Park Conservancy’s Run in the Park is back for its 23rd year!

Runners can choose to attend the in-person race, or run from the comfort of your own home virtually! Taking place on November 14, 2026 participants will be able to run – or walk – to support the efforts of the Conservancy. All proceeds from Run in the Park go towards the crucial work needed to maintain Hermann Park, which is an essential outdoor space for our community.

With 5K and 10K routes, as well as a 1K kids’ route, for the in-person events, exercise enthusiasts of all ages and abilities can come explore the Park and enjoy the shaded trails enjoyed by millions of visitors per year. The event starts and ends at the Molly Ann Smith Plaza, near the Jones Reflection Pool, and includes a post-run party with food, drinks, music, and more!

The Conservancy is also offering an at-home, virtual option!

Taking place from Saturday, November 14th through Sunday, November 29, 2026, you can support Hermann Park at your own pace, from the comfort of your own neighborhood! Virtual registrants will still get the exclusive Run in the Park t-shirt and access to an online leaderboard.

DAY OF THE RUN INFORMATION -

Kids' Run 

The Kids’ Run starts at 9:00 am near Molly Ann Smith Plaza. Look for the big banner! Our DJ will announce when our young runners should line up, stretch and get ready to race. Due to the overwhelming support of our 1K Kids' Run, we will have two heats. Kids ages 7 - 12 will run in the first heat starting at 9:00 am.  Kids age 6 and under will start shortly after.

We strongly suggest that you arrive early – at least 45 minutes prior to the start time of 9:00 am to allow ample time for parking and getting to Molly Ann Smith Plaza. We recommend parking in Parking Lots C, G, F or E and walking along the trails to the main site. Click here for a map of Hermann Park. Please note Parking Lots A, D, T and I, will be closed.

Please note that the 10K and 5K start at 8:00 am and traffic will stopped on Hermann Park Drive frequently. 

5K AND 10K

The run starts at 8:00 am near Molly Ann Smith Plaza. Look for a big banner! Our DJ will announce when runners should line up and get ready to go. We ask that runners carrying objects or pushing strollers start in the back of the group for the safety of other participants. 10K runners will start at 8:00 am and 5K runners/ walkers will start at approximately 8:10 AM

Signage and volunteers will be along the route directing participants.

We strongly suggest that you arrive early – at least 45 minutes prior to the start time of 8:00 am to allow ample time for parking and getting to Molly Ann Smith Plaza. Q: Can I bring my dogs?
A: HPC loves our four-legged buddies, but we'd ask you to leave them at home. Service animals are welcome. 

Q: Will the event go on if it rains?
A: Yes, rain or shine, we will be running in the park! ONLY in the event of thundering and lightning storms will we cancel. 

Q. Where should I park on the day of the event?
A. We recommend parking in Parking Lots G, F or E and walking along the trails and over the Tiffany Bridge to the main site. Click here for a map of Hermann Park. Please note Parking Lots A, D and I will be closed.

How to log your miles

You will be logging your miles directly into the RunSignUp System.  You will get an email with instructions for you to upload directly.  If you do not get the email, you can follow the below instructions. You will not be able to enter data until Sunday, November 10, 2024.  If you are having any trouble, please contact: community@hermannpark.org.

You can log activities directly from your individual results page using the "Log Activities" button in the top section.

Once on the Log Activities page you can submit your New Activity.  Simply enter the date (you can do past days, and multiple submissions on the same date or all at once, this is up to you!), your mileage, and if you would like your time and any comments you may want to look back on. Just remember to SUBMIT ACTIVITY! To edit previous activities, click on Manage Activities. Keep entering in your activities and mileage throughout the challenge.

Virtual Challenge - FAQ's

Q: Do I have to run, or can I walk?
A: You can Run, Walk, Runwalk, any way you can to get the miles. It's your challenge; as long as you are purposefully moving and logging miles, it counts. 

Q: How do I record my miles? 
A: You can log your miles directly into this race page. For instructions, go here. You can do it as often as you like. 

Q: Do I have to run/walk outside?
A: You can go outside, inside, on your roof, in your basement, treadmill, or around the house.  Any way you can get your miles in, counts!

Q: Can I run/walk multiple times a day? 
A: Yes, breaking your miles up several times a day counts too! 

Common Trouble Shooting Questions For Recording Miles

Q: I did not get my link; how do I log my miles?
A: Some email servers block our emails to you.  If you do not have your daily link, you can follow the instructions to log your miles in.  Keep in Mind you MUST BE LOGGED INTO THE https://RUNSIGNUP.COM/LOGIN  ACCOUNT THAT YOU USED TO REGISTER FOR THE RACE BEFORE YOU DO ANY OF THE STEPS: Link 

Q: I got my link, but I'm confused about how to log my miles.
A: Here is an instruction to walk you through how to log miles with the link: INSTRUCTIONS

Q: When I search my name, it does not come up to enter virtual results, or it says I don't have permission?
A: You must be logged into the same https://runsignup.com/login account that you registered with.

Q: I made a mistake in entering my results; how do I change them.
A: In this example, you can overwrite the mistake by choosing the pencil and paper icon.  Don't just enter it again correctly; you have to overwrite the incorrect data.

Q: I entered my results, but I don't see them in the listing.
A: The results take a few minutes to update.  If it has been a few minutes, double-check you are looking at the correct race.  There is a drop-down box called ResultSet - choose that to switch between events. The default is the boardwalk challenge. If you still don't see your results, see the below post on being anonymous.

Q: Someone else registered me; how do I move that to my account?
A: Here is a link to an article on How to move a sub-account to another user.  Follow the section titled: Transfer Sub-Account To Another Existing Account

Q: I am listed as anonymous in the results; why? 
A: When you create an account, you can be listed as anonymous in the results.  If you do not want this, go into your https://runsignup.com   profile and click to edit the profile. You will see a check box at the bottom that you want to UNCHECK to be listed again.
