About 35th Annual Reindeer Run/Walk
Half-Moon Outfitters Reindeer Run, presented by The Charleston Place, is a family-oriented, pet-friendly 5k run/walk located in downtown Charleston, SC. This year we celebrate our 35th year of the annual race!
The event has grown significantly over the years; from only a few hundred participants to record attendance of over 3,500 runners. The funds generated from the Reindeer Run benefits the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital located in downtown Charleston. This hospital provides more spacious, family-centered amenities and expanded services, including an expanded neonatal intensive care unit, an entire floor dedicated to the care of children with cancer, and the most comprehensive pediatric heart center in South Carolina.
COSTUME CONTEST:
We're bringing back a crowd favorite, the costume contest! So be sure to dress up in your festive best for the race!
Our categories will once again include: Adult Individual, Child Individual, Group and Dog. We award the top 3 from each category with lots of great prizes and gift cards from restaurants and attractions around the Charleston area. You do not want to miss out on all the fun!
The Details:
PACKET PICK-UP: Friday, December 11th from 12:00-6:00 PM at Half Moon Outfitters - West Ashley (94 Folly Rd Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407)
There will be limited packet pickup on race morning from 7-7:45. You are strongly encouraged to pickup on Friday if possible.

Race Starts promptly at 8am!
Recommend parking in one of the many parking garages throughout the city.
Overall awards will be based on Gun time and all age groups will be based on chip time. Overall Awards and costume contest will start at 9am.

1. When and where is the Reindeer Run?
The Reindeer Run takes place on December 12 at 141 Meeting Street. The Start and Finish line are located on Meeting Street near the Queen Street intersection. The event will encompass the American Gardens Park which can be accessed from both Meeting Street and King Street
2. Can I still register for the event?
Yes! Registration is open until the event sells out. Visit reindeerrun.org to register.
3. Where do I pick up my race packet?
Race packets can be picked up at Half-Moon Outfitters at 94 Folly Road on December 11 from 12-6pm. Limited pickup will be available on race day on Meeting Street from 6:45-7:45.
4. Are costumes allowed?
Absolutely festive holiday costumes are encouraged! Just ensure your costume doesn’t obstruct vision or interfere with other participants.
5. Are strollers or pets allowed?
• Strollers: Are allowed but please be aware of your surroundings.
• Dogs: Must be registered to participate in the event. You can add-on a dog registration ahead of time.
6. Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available. Please visit the City of Charleston Parking Garage locations. We recommend arriving early to avoid congestion.
