About 50th Annual Sandy Claws Beach Run
Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources, in partnership with presenting sponsor New Balance University, proudly hosts the 50th Annual Sandy Claws Beach Run, a longtime tradition in Sarasota's running community. Set a fast pace across the hard-packed, world-renowned sand of Siesta Beach in the chip-timed 5K, sanctioned by the Manasota Track Club and part of the MTC Race Series, or enjoy a leisurely morning stroll along the shore in the 1-mile fun run.
Participants can also enjoy:
- Finisher medals for all participants (5K, 1-Mile and Virtual)
- Custom awards for first through sixth place finishers in all 5K age categories
- Music, food and raffle prizes
- A holiday-themed costume contest featuring the categories: Oldest Sandy Claws Shirt, Best '70s Costume, Most Festive Holiday Outfit,
- Best Duo Costume and Best Family/Group Costume
Register by Nov. 20 before the price increase to receive a long-sleeve performance event shirt and runner goodies (no-shows forfeit these items). Participants who register on Nov. 21 or later, including race day, will receive an event shirt and runner goodies while supplies last.
A special 5K Family 4-Pack registration discount is available for groups of four. Select the multi-person pricing option during registration for the discount to apply.
