53rd Annual Walpole Labor Day Road Race

For over 50 years, the Walpole Road Race has given local athletes the opportunity to challenge themselves and participate in a wonderful community tradition. The race is the largest fundraiser to support Walpole High School Cross Country / Track & Field programs. By participating in this event you are supporting 200+ Walpole High School Cross Country/Track & Field athletes across 6 seasons as they prepare for upcoming competition. We thank you for your generosity and continued support of the programs!

The Walpole Road Race starts and finishes at Walpole High School and includes 5K run/walk, 10k run, 1 mile kids run, and virtual 5k/10k events that give everyone a chance to participate. If you need to switch events, just let us know at info@walpoleroadrace.org.

Entry Fees (sign up at Walpole Day in May for an additional $5 discount)

• Pre-Registration (before race weekend) Race Fee: $35 
• Regular Registration Race Fee: $40
• Ages 13 and younger/65 and older: $20
• Youth Mile Fun-Run fee: $20

Event Swag

• Participants who register before August 15 receive the coveted official Walpole Road Race T-shirt
• All participants will receive finisher's medal
• Race T-shirts are also available for sale in our online store for $20

Awards (in-person events only)

• 10K male winner: name engraved on Herb Lewis Memorial Trophy - displayed at The Run House
• 10K female winner: name engraved on John Murphy Trophy - displayed at John D. Murphy & Co.
• Top three 5K/10K finishers: recognized with specially engraved placement medals
• Team 5K/10K Races: Team name engraved on Team Plaque - displayed at Walpole High School
• Age group awards are not being issued this year

      Strollers are welcome in the 5K race, lined up at the back of the starting pack to avoid collisions.

Online registration closed at 9pm Friday 9/1 for the race timer crew to assign bibs.

You can still sign up in person at The Run House in Walpole Center on Saturday and Sunday 11am-5pm, or on Race Day.

The Walpole Labor Day Road Race is the largest fundraiser to support Walpole High School’s Cross Country / Track & Field programs. Still want to run? No Worries!!. Come to Walpole High School and register directly at the event.  "Day Of" Registration fee is $35.00 per runner.

A FEW FINAL REMINDERS

Check-in time starts at 8:00 a.m. Your bib number will be available at the "Pre- Registration" table.
Those who pre-registered prior to August 15th and those that purchased T-Shirts on the web site store can pick up their T-Shirts at the "Pre-Registration" table.

COVID INFORMATION

Rest Rooms are available in the High School, but PLEASE NOTE: A Face Mask is required to enter the building. So please bring a mask.

RACE T-SHIRTS

Race T-Shirt will be sold on the day of the race for $10 ($5 for last years custom designed shirts), both youth and adult sizes available in limited quantities. T-Shirt will be located along side the "day of" registration table. 

• Youth Mile start at 9:00, 10k start at 9:30, 5k start at 9:40

• Pre-Race Bib Pickup and Registration - Help streamline race day and avoid lines by picking up bibs and registering in advance at The Run House (15 West Street in Walpole):

    Friday 8/29, Saturday 8/30 and Sunday 8/31:  12:00 to 5:00

• Water – There are plenty of water stops on each course and at the finish line.

• Race Timing – All runners are chipped and will receive precise finish times onsite and on the race website.

• Medals – Our open registration means that we might run out of finisher medals. Don't worry - we closely track if that happens and we will make sure all finishers get a medal.

• Arrive Race Day by 8:15am – Don’t be late due to street closures and parking! The events begins at 8:50am and by that time many surrounding streets are already closed including Washington and Stone Street. 

• 20% Discount at The Run House – Show your Walpole Road Race bib at The Run House for a 20% discount from Friday 8/29 – Sunday 8/31.

• PARKING – Parking will be tight with construction at the high school , so arrive early! Please park in one of the lots listed below (do not park on the side streets):

Lot 1: Walpole High School @ 275 Common Street

Lot 2: Across from Walpole Police @ 50 South Street (about 1/2 mile walk)

Lot 3: Walpole Council on Aging next to Walpole Police (about 1/2 mile walk)

Lot 4:  Stone Street Public Parking (behind Fire Station and Main Street Shopping) @ 20 Stone Street (about 1 mile walk)

Lot 5:  Walpole Public Library/Town Hall@ 143 School Street (about 1 mile walk)

Lot 6: Center Pool Lot @ 144 School Street (about 1 mile walk)

Lot 7:  Clark's Pond (small lot) @  283 Stone Street (about 1/3 mile walk)

 

The Walpole Road Race Restaurant Series is Back!

We are excited to partner with local favorite restaurants again to support Walpole Cross Country and Track & Field!

How it works:

• Dine in or order takeout from the partner restaurant on the specific event night
• Tell them you are dining in support of Walpole Cross Country and Track & Field!
• Restaurants will share proceeds from that night with Walpole Cross Country and Track & Field
• A different restaurant sponsorship dining night happens every week through the summer!

• Wednesday, May 17 - Rico's Pizzeria - $2 donated for every pizza or calzone ordered!
• Tuesday, June 13 - Crisp - 15% of all orders donated
• Monday, July 10 - Clyde's - 10% of all orders donated
• Wednesday, August 9 - Jalapeno's Grill - 10% of all proceeds donated
• Tuesday, August 29 - The Raven's Nest - 15% of all proceeds donated between 4-10pm (excludes alcohol)
