Why race for Fragile X syndrome?
Fragile X syndrome (FXS) is the leading known cause of inherited intellectual disability and the leading single gene cause of Autism. Fraxsocal’s mission is to promote public awareness and with your help we can accomplish this goal! Also, to provide a forum for families and children with FXS to meet & greet and create a stronger FXS community! We also support research for effective treatments and ultimately a cure for FXS. Treatments for Fragile X are likely to help people affected by autism, Alzheimer’s, and other brain disorders.
Fragile X Community
A Family Fun Day will proceed after the walk with Family, Friends, Food and Fun!! It's a great time to chat with other families affected by fragile X syndrome (FXS) and it's also a nice opportunity for you to take your kid(s) or adult(s) with FXS or any disability for that matter, judgement free!
How to participate:

Participate in person: Sign up to walk, run, bike, scoot or stroll (it's a very family friendly walk/run) All you do is click the "Sign up" button above and register yourself and the whole family! Mark your calendar and be sure to arrive early so you can get your FREE t-shirt and goodies before we begin.

Participate virtually: Sign up by clicking the "Sign up" button above and register yourself and the whole family! (Make sure you have someone there in person to pick up your t-shirts otherwise you will be donating them to our organization in which we say, "thank you"! )

Start a Fundraiser: Whether you are participating in person or virtually you can start an individual fundraiser (starting goal is $250) and attach it to a TEAM (Starting goal of $2,500) in the honor of your Fragile X Super Hero.

Become a Sponsor: Whether you personally, your company or a company you know are interested we have multiple packages to choose from!

Recognize a participant with a fun, inspirational sign to be placed along the 5K course!
Race Fundraising Goal: $75,000 Last year we raised over $55,000!!! Let's see if we can top that!! Donations can be made by clicking the Donate Tab.

Hello Event Participants,
Let me start by saying thank you for participating in the 13th annual 5K for Fragile X Run/Walk & Family Fun Day/Expo event to be held on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas, CA. We greatly appreciate your participation and support in bringing awareness, advocacy and raising funds for our Fragile X community, strengthening and empowering all those affected by all Fragile X associated disorders! We are better and stronger together!

Look for our signs to help guide you to the parking and event area! After you go through the payment booth you will go straight and then turn into a small parking lot on the left.
Parking- General Parking is $12 per car (Card accepted; if you want to use cash please have exact amount); seniors (65+) and those with handicap placards are $5; There is a free parking lot right outside of the park — make sure to read posted parking signs.
Rain or Shine- Superhero Costumes are Optional (13th annual 5k T-shirts are guaranteed for those who registered during our “early bird” timeframe)
What to bring: You never know with our so cal weather this time of year so you may want to bring your beach chairs, blankets, umbrella, rain poncho and/or easy up. Whatever will make your experience more comfortable.
Check In (Pre-Registered)- open at 9:00 AM. Look for the table with the sign that reads “Check-in” to let us know you have arrived and to claim your 5K race t- shirt (early bird registration only).
Check In (Day of Registration)- Online only, QR codes will be displayed onsite for your convenience. You can also ask one of our race volunteers for assistnace if needed. Once registered go to the “Check in” table. Based on availability you may be able to claim a 5K race t shirt

Free Food! A slice of pizza, chips, cookie and water.
Entertainment: Superhero characters, face painting (10am-noon) and DJ B Diamond playing our favorite tunes!!

Raffle: $2/each ; 3 for $5

9:00 a.m. Run/Walk Check in begins (in your down time grab a picture with our superheroes, dance to some fun tunes, preview the raffle table, and visit our onsite sponsor booths.
10:00 a.m. Dr. Gary Feldman & Dr. Ioana Pal will give us an update on the local Fragile X clinic at Miller's Children's Hospital, Long Beach. Also, Dr. Golla from our newest FX clinic at the Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopment Center at CHOC
10:15 a.m. Group picture
10:30 a.m. Walk/run begins
11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Family Fun Day -FREE food, games, superheroes, raffle and more!
12:45 p.m. Raffle drawing (must be present to win)

5K for Fragile X Committee
EXHIBITOR SET UP INFO
Event Location is at the “Picnic Valley” off 120 E Via Verde Dr (Bonelli Park) on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 from 9am - 2pm.
People will be arriving to get their t-shirts between 9am-10 am. Race starts at 10:30am and some finish as early as 20 minutes others take up to an hour. We plan to start serving food at 11am and then there will be activities including lawn games, live DJ, and a raffle.
You will need to bring your own table, chairs, easy up and anything else you need for your booth. It's totally up to you how long you want to be there. You are welcome anytime (you can set up as early as 8am or as late as 11am. It's a grassy/uneven ground so be prepared to get creative with set up.
You will need to unload in the parking lot and carry/wheel in your set up. Booths should be cleared out by 3pm.

How to Become a Fundraiser
For those interested in FUNDRAISING this is for YOU!
Follow these step-by-step instructions & tips and you’ll be on your way!
Step #1 -- Personalize your INDIVIDUAL fundraising page but be sure to LINK your Fragile X Superhero TEAM Fundraiser at the bottom of the form (Don't see your team you can select "New Team Fundraiser")! When you selected to "Become A Fundraiser" we provided some basic info for you, but we encourage you to add your photo, a banner, and a personal story. Remember...people like to donate to other people! We created some Canva templates if you want to use them.
Step #2 -- Consider a donation to your own page first (others will follow your lead!) Click here to fill out your form "Become a Fundraiser"
Step #3 -- Share your fundraising page with your family, friends, and colleagues. You may do this by sharing your page to your social accounts, via email, or text. Make it easy for people to donate!
Once the donations start rolling in...
Tip #1 -- Thank your donors. You may send email directly from your fundraising page.
