About Arctic Valley Banked Slalom
The Arctic Valley Banked Slalom is back for it's 3rd Annual running. This is a snowboard only event from 12:30pm- ~2:00 pm. This year's event is an individual slalom style so just you against the clock. The course features 40+ corners, starting in Rondy Bowl and finishing at the bottom of Shooter Gully. Awards will be based off of the fastest of the two runs for each racer (each rider gets 2 runs total). After each riders 2 runs, an optional 3rd run will be administered for those daring enough to take on our course riding switch.
Check-in/bib pick-up will be from 10 am -11:30am upstairs in the lodge. Last registration is no later than 11: 30 am day of event.
Race start is in Rondy Bowl, accessed from Chair 2 or the T-Bar and is visible from the lift as riding up on the right. Riders meeting at the top of the course at ~12:15 PM and 1st run will be at 12:30 PM. Each racer must complete run one before anyone is allowed to start run two. So, get up to the start gate early and get your first run done. Then you have some time before the last call for the second run.
Rules:
- A missed gate will result in a DNF for that run. No big deal-go back and make a full-pull on your 2nd run!
- Helmets are recommended, not required.
- Have fun!
Men's/Women's categories:
- Groms (10 and under)
- Shredders (11- 17)
- Rippers (18-39)
- Over the Hill (40+)
- Awards for top 3 in each category, and fastest men's and women's times will win season passes for the 2027 season.
The awards party will be in the lodge at 6:30pm following the scheduled live music.
Join us from 3:00 to 6:00 PM for a hip/hand-dug halfpipe/quarter pipe jam for any riders willing to throwdown for a good old fashioned expression session. This will take place at the tubing hill and adjacent Natural Halfpipe
