REFUND, DEFERRAL, TRANSFER, AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

We want to be completely transparent with our policies regarding refunds, deferrals, and cancellations. If you are interested in signing up for this race please read this section carefully prior to registering. All interested participants will be shown these policies during the registration process and must agree to adhere to them in order to be admitted to the event.

Refunds

Race registration fees (and the processing charge from RunSignup) are not refundable. These funds are used to pay for race premiums, permits, supplies, staffing, and other costs incurred before, during, and after the event is held. To be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy.

Deferrals

We offer the option for registrants to defer their entry to the following year's event based on Charm City Run's General Deferral fee schedule:

Until June 22, 2025 (2 weeks prior to race day) - $17.90
June 23, 2025 - July 5, 2025 (within 2 weeks of race day) - $33.80. 

Registrants may defer their entry by going into their profile on runsignup.com and choosing "Manage Registration" next to the race.

Transfers

We offer the option for registrants to transfer their entry to another eligible participant up to July 5, 2025. After this deadline passes we are unable to allow transfers as race materials have been received and prepped for the event. Again, to be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy. Registrants may transfer their entry to another registrant by going into their profile on runsignup.com and choosing "Manage Registration" next to the race.

Cancellation

2020 showed just how unpredictable our world can be, and the running industry was certainly no exception. We know that it's important to have as much information at your disposal when making a decision whether to sign up for a race or not, and we want you to know exactly what your options will be should the 2025 in-person race not be able to take place as originally planned. Our regular cancellation policy found here covers scenarios that could prompt the cancellation of an event including weather, local emergencies, public health emergencies, etc. If you have any questions about our cancellation policy please email us at events@charmcityrun.com PRIOR to registering.

COURSE

The 4 mile course starts and finishes at the William Street entrance of the Ma & Pa Trail. The course is an out-and-back on the Ma & Pa Trail.



Course map subject to change. Please note: Strollers are not permitted on the course as parts of the course are very narrow.

 

AWARDS

Awards will be presented to the top three male, female and non-binary finishers overall, as well as the top male, female and non-binary masters finisher (40+).

Awards will also be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and over.

Please note: Awards are offered for the in-person event only. There will be no overall or age-group awards for the virtual run.


POST-RACE FESTIVITIES

Please join us at the Independent Brewing Company (just down the street at 418 Main Street in Bel Air) after the race for our awards ceremony and a fun post race-party with breakfast. Your first beer is included with your registration for runners 21+.

VIRTUAL OPTION

We have created a virtual race option for those who would like to participate but are not local, or are unable to attend the in-person race.  Here's how the virtual race works:

  • Register for the virtual event, and sign up for text or e-mail notifications
  • Your race swag will be available for pickup at our Friday packet pickup or can be mailed to you at no additional cost. Virtual race materials will be mailed starting on July 8th.
  • You'll receive a text or email (if you opt in) when the race "starts" on July 5th.
  • Run your race and submit your results either by text message or email (if you've opted in) or by heading to the results page here by July 6th at 11:59 PM Eastern Time). Results update in real time as people submit their times. Be sure to take a selfie and post on social media with the hashtag #charmcityrun.
  • Sit back and enjoy a cool drink in your fancy pint glass :)

BENEFICIARY: CHESAPEAKE CANCER ALLIANCE

Chesapeake Cancer Alliance (CCA) in Harford County was formed in July, 2003 when a group of friends interested in improving the quality of life for cancer patients in their own community, committed to raise funds to provide such services. Understanding that facing cancer can be one of the most significant challenges a person encounters, the CCA was determined to provide the best support services available.

Together, CCA and The Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation raise funds through individual and group fundraising projects, business and corporate sponsorships, memorials and donations from the community. CCA is affiliated with The Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation to provide philanthropic support for programs offered by Cancer LifeNet at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, the Upper Chesapeake Health Breast Care Center and the Kaufman Cancer Center at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH).
