AVFRD Harvest Blaze 5K Run

Join the Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department (AVFRD) on Saturday, September 26, for the 7th Annual Harvest Blaze 5K and Kids' Spark Sprint (ages 4–10)!

Bring the whole family for a morning of fun, fitness, and community support. Both races will start and finish at Route 7 Brewing (20051 Riverside Commons Plaza #148, Ashburn, VA 20147), followed by a post-race celebration featuring food, drinks, live music, and more.

The Kids' Spark Sprint begins at 9:00 a.m., with the Harvest Blaze 5K starting shortly afterward.
For more than 80 years, AVFRD has proudly served the community. The generous support of local residents, businesses, and civic organizations helps make that service possible. All race proceeds and donations directly benefit AVFRD's Ray Muth Scholarship Fund, which provides higher education scholarships for department members and their children.

Race Registration Fees
5K: $35 through July 3
       $40 July 4 through August 3
       $45 August 4 through September 3
       $45 September 4 through Race Day (September 26) - no shirt available

Kids' Spark Sprint (ages 4-10): $20 through Race Day (no beer ticket included)

Online registration will remain open through Race Day. All registrations must be done online.

** Sign up early! Shirts will not be available for any registrations after September 5!

Packet pickup will be available at Route 7 Brewing:
     • Friday, September 25, from 4:00–8:00 p.m.
     • Saturday, September 26, from 7:00–8:30 a.m.

Awards will be presented to the top three overall female and top three overall male finishers in the 5K.

Participants age 21 and older will receive a complimentary beer ticket for the post-race celebration at Route 7 Brewing. A valid photo ID must be presented at packet pickup to receive the ticket and again at the brewery to redeem it.

Start/finish line. On an interior driveway (Ashburn Crossing Drive) looking North just East of the building Dynasty is located in.

*Go North about 0.1 miles to an entrance off of Loudoun County Pkwy.

*Veer right onto the asphalt walking path that generally parallels Loudoun County Pkwy.

*Go North on the walking path about 0.5 miles to where it intersects with Malden Place.

*Turn left onto Malden Place and head generally West about 0.2 miles.

*Turn right onto Exchange Street generally going North about 0.2 miles.

*Turn left onto the asphalt walking path on the South side of Marblehead Pkwy heading West about 0.5 miles to the Potomac Green Neighborhood Park.

*Continue on the Marblehead Pkwy asphalt walking path about 0.6 miles to Gloucester Pkwy 

*Turn left onto the asphalt walking path on the North Side of Gloucester Pkwy about 0.5 miles to just past the Ashby Ponds entrance.

*Veer onto the shoulder lane of Gloucester Pkwy heading East about 0.3 miles to the sidewalk on the West side of Loudoun County Pkwy.

*Go North on the sidewalk about 0.2 miles and veer left at the entrance into Ashburn Crossing Business Park.

*Veer right at the interior driveway and you can see the finish line is about 0.1 miles ahead.
