BayCare Wobble Turkey Trot

Run. Walk. Wobble!  BayCare Wobble Turkey Trot (Formerly The Original Wiregrass Wobble Turkey Trot 5K™) presented by BayCare Hospital Wesley Chapel is coming back for another race at Tampa Premium Outlets!

 Every finisher will receive a long sleeve tech-shirt (Shirts and sizes are guaranteed if preregistered before November 1, 2026. After this date, shirts will be available while supplies last!), bib, custom finisher medal made of solid American steel, as well as a rockin' good time with friends and family members!!

This is a festive time of the year, so dress the part!  We love seeing all the pilgrims, turkeys, turkey hats, you name it!  You just add to the festivity of the morning!

The BayCare Wobble Turkey Trot at Tampa Premium Outlets  and will again support one of our original beneficiaries, the New Tampa Family YMCA, Open Doors Financial Assistance Program.

You can participate as an individual or on a team.  Age group and overall awards will be awarded to the top 3 in men's and women's 5-year age groups, as well as to the first place men's and women's finishers in overall, masters and grand masters categories.  A special prize will also be awarded to the team with the most registered runners and walkers, so invite everyone you know to join!

Don't wait to register! Shirts and sizes are guaranteed if preregistered before November 1, 2026. After this date, shirts will be available while supplies last!

Wednesday, November 25 - from 4-7 at Tampa Premium Outlets (2300 Grand Cypress Drive, Lutz, Florida 33559-in the food court)
Thursday, November 26 - from 6-6:45am - at Tampa Premium Outlets (2300 Grand Cypress Drive, Lutz, Florida 33559-at the mall entrance)

Male & Female awards will be given to first place Overall,  Masters (40+), and Grand Masters (50+), as well as to the top 3 in standard Male & Female 5-year age groups (0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24 up to 80+).

Awards will be presented to the Top Male & Female - Overall, Masters (40+) & Grandmasters (50+) as well as 3 Deep in each of the standard 5 year age groups (9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29... up to 80+)

A heavy-duty, custom Finisher's Medal will be presented to all who finish the race!

RACE DAY PARKING
Park in the outer sections of the mall, near and around Costco.  
If you park in an inner section, you will not be able to leave until police open the mall back up after the final finisher.

Is this a "live" timed race/event?
This will be a "Live" event held at TAMPA PREMIUM OUTLETS! there is also a virtual option, which you can run anywhere at any time! The "Live" race will be a mass start, so please arrive early and ready to run. The race will start and finish in the same area, in front of the mall's main entrance, so as soon as all the runners are through the start, the timing equipment will be switched over to finish. If you start after this happens (approx 7:05) your start time will default to Gun time. This will add at least several minutes to your recorded time. 

Benefactors?
Along with the FITniche Philanthropic Foundation, New Tampa Family YMCA was one of the original beneficiaries when the race was first founded.  The New Tampa Family YMCA is an important, community organization that does much, much more than operate fitness and recreational facilities.  They also provide a rich network of health, wellness and other resources to under-served portions of our community.  During the pandemic, for instance, when their facilities were mandated closed to the public for fitness purposes, they provided day-care to many hundreds of children, so that their parents could still work, and they provided healthy meals and food to those in need. We are proud to provide proceeds from this year's race to the New Tampa Family YMCA and other local charities and non-profits.

What is the refund policy?
There are no refunds. If you register for the live event and cannot make it, your registration can be switched to the virtual option.

What is included with the race entry?
All registered participants receive a Tri-blend 2026 BayCare Wobble Turkey Trot shirt (men's, women's, and youth sizes), our one-of-a-kind medal, as well as a traditional custom bib in their event packet. See below for packet pick-up or mailing info.

When can we register?
Now! the sooner the better! You can even register on Race Day, but the price to register will be more and there shirts and sizes are not guaranteed. Shirt size is guaranteed only if pre-registered before  November 1st.  After that shirts will be available on a first come first serve basis. Please not that some shirts sizes may not be available as race day approaches! 

Largest team!
Create a Team: School, Friends, Family or even a business team or any combination! One special award for the largest team!

Can I have my packet mailed instead?
Virtual Runners can opt in to have their packet mailed starting the week after the race if they choose during the registration process. (There is a $7.00 additional shipping and handling fee.) We will not mail any packet without this fee being paid.

What if I did not show up on race day?
Good news!  You will have a week after the event to pick up your packet at Fleet Feet Flatwoods. Arrangement can also be made to have your packet mailed; however, there is a $7.00 addition shipping and handling fee for mailing packets.

Why did the BayCare Wobble Turkey Trot move?
FITniche started the BayCare Wobble Turkey Trot (Formerly Wiregrass Wobble Turkey Trot 5K) over 15 years ago with a "coffee and bagels" fun run that ended up attracting almost 200 people, and the tradition has grown ever since. In April of 2020, FITniche moved its retail store out of the Shops at Wiregrass to it's new Flatwoods location a few miles down the road (now Fleet Feet).  Because of this move and a non-compete enacted by a new Shops at Wiregrass tenant and competitor, FITniche Events still wanted to host its race there, but was prohibited from doing so by Shops at Wiregrass management. So the decision was made to move the BayCare Wobble Turkey Trot (Formerly Wiregrass Wobble Turkey Trot 5K) down the road to Tampa Premium Outlets and continue the tradition there!
