Beach to Beach 5K Run

Teams of 5 to 10 runners compete for prizes for each of the three Summer Sizzler races (Summer Solstice 5K, Downtown Dash 5K, and Beach to Beach 5K) as well as a Team Grand Prize for the team that wins the combined three-race series competition!  Here's how it works - you get a team of at least 5 but no more than 10 runners together, and enter each race in the Series (or use the Three-Race Bundle for a better price).  At each race, your team is scored just like in Cross Country - the top five runners on the team are scored, by adding up the OVERALL PLACE each runner finishes in the race.  Lowest score wins, and if there's a tie score, the tie is broken by the sixth runner's place.

The summer classic Beach To Beach 5K Run is back!  BRAND NEW route running from Jensen Beach to Stuart Beach, NEW SATURDAY MORNING in August timeframe - MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS!  This race has a 300-runner cap so don't wait too long to register!

Park at the FINISH LINE in the parking lot at the Stuart Beach public beach, located right on the Atlantic Ocean behind the Elliott Museum.  We will bus you north three miles to the starting line at the Jensen Beach public beach parking lot, and then you'll run back to the finish!  Buses start running at 5:40 AM, the last bus will leave at 6:40 AM - DON'T BE LATE!

Flat and fast, the course starts at the Jensen Beach parking lot, runs straight south of 3 miles along the edge of Highway A-1-A, and finishes in the Stuart Beach public beach parking lot, right behind the Elliott Museum.  Three left-hand turns, with a 3-mile straightaway in between!

Here's an example of how it works - Team A has runners who place 3rd, 5th, 10th, 11th, and 20th overall.  Team B has runners who place 2nd, 6th, 8th, 12th and 21st overall.  Team A's score is 3+5+10+11+20=49.  Team B's score is 2+6+8+12+21=49 - a tie score.  But Team A's 6th-place runner finishes in 25th overall, while Team B's 6th-place runner finishes in 31st place overall, so Team A is the winner.

Scores are tallied for each race, and then the Team Score from each race is added together for a Combined Team Score to determine the Series Team Champion.  If Team A scored 49 points in the Summer Solstice 5K, 51 points in the Downtown Dash 5K, and 60 points in the Beach to Beach 5K, then the team Combined Score is 49+51+60=160.

You can see that it helps to have AT LEAST 6 runners each race!  Because low score wins, each team MUST have at least five runners who run in person at each race.  No virtual results can be used in the team competition.  Each member of your team MUST be identified as your team member at least 30 minutes before each race starts.

TEAMS DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE THE SAME 5 TO 10 RUNNERS FOR ALL THREE RACES!  Team A can have John, Jill, Jamie, June, Julie, and Jim run in the Summer Solstice 5K, and then Team A can have Stephanie, Steve, Sam, Sarah, Suzie, and Summer run the Downtown Dash, and then Team A can have Mike, Mark, Michelle, Mary, Myrna, and Molly run the Beach to Beach 5K - and all 18 runners will share in the Series Grand Prize!

PRIZES - The winning team in each race (Summer Solstice, Downtown Dash, and Beach to Beach) wins a $10 gift card from Googan's Coffee Shop for each of the runners on the team (up to 10 runners).  Every runner on the team wins a gift card whether he or she scores points for the team or not!  There will also be some sort of team medal or small award for each runner on the winning team for each race.

The team that wins the Team Grand Prize for the Series will have its team name engraved on a large permanent trophy to be displayed in the area during the year, as well as a pizza, soda and beer party at Big Apple Pizza in Ocean Breeze Plaza in Jensen Beach, at a date that's convenient for the entire team.  EVERY TEAM MEMBER WILL SHARE IN THE PIZZA PARTY, WHETHER THEY RUN IN A SINGLE RACE, OR ALL THREE RACES, AND WHETHER THEY SCORE TEAM POINTS OR NOT!

If you know who you want to transfer your entry to, all you need is that person’s name and email address.  You will sign into RunSignUp, choose our race from your menu of events, and then choose Manage Registration.  One of the options will be Transfer, and that’s the option you want.

Transfer will ask you to input the name and email address of the person you’re transferring your entry to, and once you finalize that, the other person will receive an email directly from RunSignUp that contains a link, and that link will allow the new person to register AT NO COST.

Once that person accepts, their name will be put onto the race entry list, and your name will be removed, thus swapping your entry to that new person.

It’s up to you and the person you’re transferring to, to work out any payment between you.  There are lots of payment options, including Venmo, Zelle, and Paypal, and cash or check is always a good choice ;-).

Pre-Race Packet Pickup will be out front of the Fleet Feet running store, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday,  August 22.  PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO PICK UP YOUR PACKET BEFORE RACE DAY!  YOU MAY HAVE SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP YOUR PACKET FOR YOU!

Fleet Feet is located at 2440 NW Federal Hwy Stuart FL 34994 - they're on the west side of US 1, just south of Britt Road.  They're south of Target, and right next to Bed Bath & Beyond.

The Course is just about the easiest course you'll ever run!  Three turns - all right-hand - with a 3-mile straightaway make this course just about impossible to get lost on!  The Starting Line will be located behind the Elliott Museum in the Stuart Beach public beach parking lot, the course exits Stuart Beach and runs three miles straight north along Highway A-1-A - runners can use either the bike lane along the road edge, or the sidewalk on the east side of A-1-A - and then two right-hand turns at the Jensen Beach public beach parking lot gets you to the Finish Line!
