About Beulah Challenge and OverIt Series
RACE START TIMES:
- 1/2 Marathon - 8:00 a.m.
- 10K - 9:00 a.m.
- 5K - 9:15 a.m.
The Beulah Challenge, which started in 1996, is a 5K, 10K, and half-marathon run near Beulah, a small southern Colorado community located in the spectacular Beulah Valley nestled in the Wet Mountains. Start and finish for all races is at the school, 8734 School House Ln, Beulah, CO 81023. The 5K and 10K courses take you around the scenic gravel and paved roads of Beulah. The half-marathon course runs through the Beulah Valley and the iconic Pueblo Mountain Park on hiking trails. Run the Beulah Challenge and enjoy fresh mountain air in this beautiful historic area!
Runners 17 years old and younger may register for the 5K or 10K at the discounted price of $15.
Half-marathoners may want to consider running the Over It SOCO Race Series, which consists of the Beulah Challenge half-marathon, the Rim to Rim Royal Gorge half-marathon, and the Rock Canyon half marathon. Click here for more information.
Half Marathon Time Limit: 3 1/2 Hours
Runners, joggers and walkers are all welcomed to participate. We applaud all those who set out to complete the Half Marathon distance, regardless of the pace. The race is permitted through the town of Beulah and we use race marshals and Beulah Fire Department to monitor traffic throughout the race to keep the runners safe.
This is a pace of 16:00 minutes per mile for the half marathon. For your own safety, we strongly discourage you from participating in this event if you cannot maintain a pace of 16:00 minutes per mile as all course support shuts down based on this pace.
If participants choose to continue running after the time limit, they do so at their own risk and, while on any roadway, will move to the left side facing oncoming traffic and obey all traffic laws along the course.
*Finisher medallions will be awarded only to those who finish within the official time span.

We invite your organization to become a sponsor and have affordable sponsorship levels that can provide you with exposure to a group of people who value the outdoor recreational opportunities in the Pueblo region. Our normal number of registrants is around two hundred, mostly from the Pueblo and southern Colorado regions.
The Beulah Challenge is organized by, and all proceeds are directed to, the non-profit Beulah Educational Support Team (www.beulahbest.org) to support arts, music, and environmental programs at the Beulah School of Natural Sciences (https://bee.district70.org/), a public magnet school attended by students from both Pueblo and Beulah. By being a sponsor of the Beulah Challenge, you can be associated with the positive exposure that events like the Beulah Challenge bring to what southern Colorado and the city of Pueblo have to offer locals and tourists. We are working hard to promote the Beulah Challenge as a race for people to put on their calendar every year.
There are three levels of sponsorships.
- Bronze-$100 to $249
- Silver-$250 to $499
- Gold-Over $500
All sponsors will be highlighted on our web page and on a banner at the race. We also offer an opportunity for your company to advertise by providing coupons or any promotion items to put in our race packets. Just contact Paul Hindman at phindman@gmail.com.
