6th Annual Be the ONE Run/Walk

Join us for the 6th Annual Be the ONE Run/Walk, a community event dedicated to mental/brain health
awareness, to support those living with a mental/brain illness or have been impacted by suicide loss.
 
Founded through a partnership between Biggby Coffee and i understand, the Be the ONE Run/Walk
has become a meaningful West Michigan tradition, bringing together individuals, families, businesses,
schools, and community leaders who believe that connection saves lives and that no one should face
life's challenges alone.
 
As we enter our sixth year, i understand is honored to continue this important event while recognizing
Biggby Coffee as the Founding Partner whose leadership helped establish and grow the Be the ONE
movement during its first five years.
 
Whether you run, walk, remember, honor a loved one, or simply show your support, every step helps
create hope, awareness, and connection within our community.

• Finisher medal
• Post-event refreshments
• Access to community resources and activities
• Photo opportunities with HOPE our Mascot and our Star Wars friends

 
Why We Walk

Funds raised through the Be the ONE Run/Walk support the mission of i understand by helping
provide:

• Suicide Loss/Men’s/Suicide Attempt Survivor support groups
• Grief resources and support
• Mental/brain health education and training
• Community outreach and awareness initiatives
• Programs that strengthen connection and hope throughout West Michigan

 
Together, we can create a community where no one feels alone.

Early packet pick up:

Packets will be available for pick up at the i understand Pink Place - 630 Kenmoor SE, Suite 100, Grand Rapids, MI - Time TBD

Event Day Packet Pick-up and Late Registration:

Packet pick up and late registration will take place the morning of the event, beginning at 8:00 AM at the Grant Pavilion.  From 8:00 AM-9:45 AM you will have the opportunity to pick-up your packets and check-out our local vendors under the pavilion.

-Participants will receive a medal after crossing the finish line!

-The top 3 overall male & female will receive an additional prize

Winners must be on-site directly following the event to claim their award.

(Participants who choose the virtual option are not eligible for awards.)

This year's t-shirt will be a long-sleeve unisex performance shirt (typically runs one size large for women).  Cut off time for guaranteed t-shirt sizing is 11:59 p.m. October 12th, 2026. For all participants that register after October 12, 2026, t-shirts/t-shirt sizes are not guaranteed. A variety of sizes will be available first-come, first-serve, at packet pick up for late registrants. 

We have a new CERTIFIED course this year!!  The course will start and finish at Grant Pavilion and utilize the Millennium Park trails
