BIMBO GLOBAL RACE IS BACK!

Bimbo Bakeries USA is proud to host its 7th edition virtual race! After a successful inaugural virtual race in 2020, bringing together more than 20,000 participants in the U.S. alone, we are thrilled to be back and ready to run together. Last year, over 440,630 runners across 21 countries, 28 cities, and 80 virtual races, were able to help Bimbo donate over 3.5 million slices of bread.

 

The Bimbo Global Race was born from a dream to unite thousands of people around the world for a good cause. Throughout the years we’ve been present in 23 countries bringing our communities together and we will continue to be unified! On Monday, September 21st, we will be kicking off our virtual race for U.S. participants!

 

About Bimbo Global Race

Bimbo Global Race is for everyone: competitive runners, casual walkers, families, friends, and everyday joggers looking to come out and participate in Bimbo's healthy, active lifestyle initiative. It is truly a global event; In 2016, Bimbo Global Race broke the Guinness Book of World Records for the most 10K races held simultaneously worldwide on the same day. Fast forward to 2026, we are still continuing to support our goal and plan to do so across the U.S. virtually.

 

In addition to our virtual race, Bimbo Bakeries USA is proud to partner with Feeding America to give back. Bimbo Bakeries USA has made the decision to cover the registration fees making this a FREE race for all participants in hopes that runners will donate to Feeding America to support the greater cause. How It Works

It's simple. Below are a few easy steps to get yourself signed up and part of this Global movement:

1. Select your distance (10K or 5K)

2. Register for your distance using the Sign Up button at the top of the page and receive a digital runners bib to use on race day

3. Get out there and train before your race 

4. During race week, choose one day during the week to run between September 21st-27th, 2026

5. On selected race day, track your run using a running app as you complete your 10K (6.2 miles) or 5K (3.1 miles)

6. Upload your completed race to our results page via online submission or via email by September 27th (11:59pmPST).

7. Congrats, you're part of the movement! Download your finishers certificate after result submission has been validated and wait to receive your participant pack & medal (in 45 days) post-race.

 

Where

Anywhere! The great thing about a virtual race is you can run wherever you like. Outside on a trail or inside on a treadmill, the course you choose is up to you.

 

When

Our virtual race week is from September 21st-27th. Pick one day during the race window to complete your registered distance (10K or 5K) and upload your recorded time/distance to our results page. As a reminder, you must submit your completed race results (by September 27th, 11:59pmPST) in order to receive your participant pack & medal via USPS within 45 days (upon validation).

With virtual races being new to a lot of people, we've outlined a list of frequently asked questions to help assist runners to make their virtual journey as smooth as possible. Please note, this registration site is for U.S. residents only. If you reside in another country and would like to participate, please visit bimboglobalrace.com to register. 

 

Frequently Asked Questions:

• What is a virtual race? A running event that can be run (or walked) on your own time at a location you choose. 

• How does a virtual race work? Register for your virtual distance (10K or 5K) on the Bimbo Global Race RunSignup page, complete your distance during the virtual race window (Sept 21st-27th), and upload your recorded race results (by September 27th at 11:59pm PST) to our virtual results page and we will send you (via USPS) your medal and participant pack upon validation (within 45 days).  

• Can I run both distances? Participants can only complete (1) race (either 10K or 5K). Double race entries will not be validated. Please pick which distance you would like to complete for your 2026 Bimbo Global Race and give it your best effort!

• Can anyone participate? Yes, the virtual Bimbo Global Race is for everyone, any skill level! Registration is for participants age 5 and older. We are an inclusive race and excited to have you participate however, this is registration for U.S. residents only. If you reside in another country and would like to participate please visit bimboglobalrace.com to register.  

• Can I make changes to my registration? Yes, you have the capability to make manual changes to your individual registration including: name, address, distance (10K or 5K), etc. You simply log into your RunSignup race profile or click the Manage Registration link within your confirmation email. Manual changes can be made as long as race registration window is open. 

• Can I do another activity like biking or swimming? To keep the virtual experience consistent for all participants, only running, jogging, or walking will count toward race completion. That said, there is no time limit, and participants are encouraged to move at their own pace and in a way that feels right for them. If you have accessibility needs or use a mobility aid (like a wheelchair or walker), we welcome your participation—all forms of self-powered movement on foot or wheels are celebrated.

• Do I have to complete my race at one time? Yes, all participants must complete their race distance: either 10K (6.2 miles) or 5K (3.1 miles), in one day. Good news, you can walk or run your personal race at your own pace. You must submit your recorded race results by the deadline, September 28th (by 11:59pmPST). 

• Can I run more than once? No, multiple entries will not be validated, meaning only one (1) registration and one race submission per participant. If you register for more than one distance we will only honor one result submission. We encourage you to sign up today for one distance and challenge you next year to run our further distance! 

• How do I track my race? In order to track your race you can use a variety of running apps on your smartphone. Only details we need to see are: distance completed (in KM or Miles) and time. You must carry your smartphone with you in order for the app to properly track your race. If you do not have a smartphone, you can use a stopwatch that tracks both time and distance and submit a picture of completed race screen. Below are a few (free) app options for reference:

               - MapMyRun

               - Strava

               - Runkeeper

               - Garmin

 

• Will there be packet pickup? There is no packet pickup for a virtual race. Runners bibs will be sent digitally (via email) for download if you wish to wear during your run. All participant packs will be mailed post-race upon validation of completed run. Participant packs will be mailed to the shipping address provided during registration - addresses can not be changed after registration closes. 

• Where do I submit my results? You have two (2) options to submit your recorded results.

  • You can upload your completed run via the online submission through your RunSignup profile.

  • You can send your completed results via email using the link you will receive the week prior to race week.

    • *Please note, you must submit your own (individual) race tracking results in order to receive a medal. You will not be able to use anyone else's completed run for submission. All results will be reviewed and validated by the Race Director before a medal/participant pack is confirmed for participant shipping. Race submissions must be uploaded to the results page by 11:59pmPST on September 27th.

• How do I download my finishers certificate? Once your result submission has been validated and is live on the results leaderboard, you will be able to select your name/result time and click the certificate title in the right hand corner. Your personalized finishers certificate will load and be available for download and printing. 

• When will I receive my medal/swag? Once you've uploaded your completed race results (within the race week window), we will validate your results and send your participant items via USPS forty five (45) days post-race week validations to the shipping address you used during registration. Participants will be able to download the finisher certificate immediately after results have been validated by a race director (within 72 hours of submission).  

• Will there be timed awards? Since we are not tracking individual times and runners will be competing on different courses (ie: on their own) we will not be doing timed awards by age or top finisher awards. We will be giving a medal to all validated finishers. 

• Is there a charitable component? Yes, Bimbo Bakeries USA has partnered with Feeding America to help support their amazing cause. If you'd like to support too you can DONATE using the link at the top of the page. Any amount helps feed someone in need.         

 

 

RESULT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS 
(U.S. participants only) 

 

Step 1. Record your timed race distance: 10K or 5K

Step 2: Upload your recorded race to Bimbo Global Race virtual results page

Step 3: Race validation (by race director)

 

Note: participants can only submit (1) race entry. Double entries (for both distances) will not be validated.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Participant must complete the race in (1) day 

• Participant must complete the full registered distance 10K (6.2 miles) or 5K (3.1 miles) 

• Participant must record the race including time and distance 

• Participant must run or walk the race (no biking, swimming or other activity) 

• Participant must upload their recorded race to the results page for validation by the race week deadline (September 27th, by 11:59pmPST)

   

 

Step 1. Recording Your Time

• • • Participant must record their race capturing their completed time and distance 

    • Participant can record their race one of three ways:

      1. 1. Compatible running app

         2. Smartwatch/Fitbit/Treadmill (photo submission required) 

         3. Handheld stopwatch that tracks distance (photo submission required) 

    • Top compatible (free) running apps for use are:

      • • MapMyRun, Runkeeper, Strava, Garmin

        • If using a different running app make sure it exports a GPX, FIT or TCX file

    • Participant will need to ensure they bring/wear their phone, watch or stopwatch on run in order to record their race (time/distance)

 

 

Step 2. Uploading Your Results

• • • All participants will upload their recorded race to the virtual results page. (Click the RESULTS header at the top of the webpage to be redirected).

    • Participant will enter name/email and select their individual profile to submit results

    • Once participant is selected, individual can upload their completed race results one of two ways:

      1. 1. Running app export file

         2. Manual entry submission 

 

Running App Submission Instructions:

        • Export & upload logged race from selected running app

        • File must be a GPX, FIT or TCX file to import

 

Manual Entry Submission Instructions (two-step process): 

1. 1. 1. 1. 1. Manually enter your time on the virtual results page (*must complete this step first) 

            2. Email a photo (or screenshot) of your completed time/distance ONLY if using a smartwatch, Fitbit, stopwatch or treadmill, in response to the RACE WEEK email that will go out to all registered participants on Monday, September 21st. (*this email address is for U.S. participants only) 

 

 

Step 3. Race Validation

 

• • • Race director will validate results within 72hrs of their submission 

    • Race director will reach out ONLY if there is an issue validating results 

    • Participant will be able to see their results & download their finishers certificate after validation is completed - in order to see results in the leaderboard your profile must not be set to anonymous

    • Participant will receive their medal and participant pack within 45 days (upon validation) to the shipping address provided during registration (via USPS) - addresses can not be changed after race week

In addition to the 2026 participant pack items, all racers will receive a custom finishers medal for completing our virtual race this year. 
 
Simply upload your completed race tracking to our virtual results page between September 21st-27th, and we'll mail you (via USPS) your participant pack and medal 45 days post-race week (expected delivery the second week of November) as a Thank You for being part of this virtual event. 

 

                                                  

 

BIMBO® 2026 Virtual Global Race Donation Program
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
 
 
By participating in the BIMBO® 2026 Virtual Global Race Donation Program (the “Program”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. 
 
Eligibility: Program is open to legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia who are 5 years of age or older (excluding residents of the states of Alabama, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Mississippi and South Carolina). Eligible minors must obtain their parents’ or legal guardians’ consent prior to participating. Void in the states of Alabama, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Mississippi, South Carolina and where prohibited by law. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
 
Program Dates & Overview: Program starts on September 22, 2025 and ends on September 28, 2025, or while supplies last, whichever is sooner (“Program Period”). 
 
How to Participate: Throughout the Program Period, Bimbo Bakeries USA, Inc. (“BBU”) will donate two (2) slices of bread for each eligible 5k & 10k virtual Bimbo Global Race (“Race”) registration received to Feeding America, with a maximum donation of 20,000 slices of bread donated. Participants can sign up for the 5k or 10k Race at (runsignup.com/usavirtualbimborace). Limit of one (1) race registration per person. There is no cost to sign up for and participate in the Race. Donation to Feeding America will be made within thirty (30) days from the end date of the Program Period. Information concerning Feeding America, including financial, licensing or charitable purpose may be obtained, without cost, by visiting www.feedingamerica.org or writing to: Feeding America, 35 East Wacker Drive, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60601. 
 
Important Note to AL, HI, IL, MA, MS & SC Residents: As mentioned above, residents of the states of Alabama, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Mississippi and South Carolina are encouraged to register for an eligible Race, however, their participation/registration in an eligible Race will not affect the amount of bread slices being donated.
 
General Conditions: BBU, Feeding America, participating supermarkets, clubs and convenience store channels and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, and advertising and promotion agencies and (collectively, the “Released Parties”) are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, or delayed Race registrations, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or other errors or problems of any kind. Should any portion of the offer be, in BBU’s sole opinion, compromised by non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of BBU, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or submission of information, BBU reserves the right at its sole discretion to terminate the Program if the human intervention was caused by Feeding America or a Feeding America employee, officer, or director. By participating, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and the decisions of BBU which are final and binding. 
 
Disputes: Except where prohibited, participant agrees that: (a) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Program shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; (b) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with participating in the Program, and in no event shall participant be entitled to receive attorneys’ fees or other legal costs or expenses unless expressly stated otherwise in the contract between BBU and Feeding America; and (c) Participant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Terms and Conditions, participant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of BBU in connection with the Program, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

A virtual race is similar to a traditional running event except it is done entirely on your own. There is no required course or time limits with a virtual race - it can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on a road, on a trail, on the treadmill, or on the track, wherever you feel comfortable. You also get to run/walk your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. A virtual running event provides individual participants motivation by awarding them for their individual efforts and completed activity. During these changing times, a virtual race is a great way to still be able to get out to compete and be active, while keeping safe at the same time.
