Book It for the Olive Free Library 5K Run/Walk

5K walk/run Saturday September 5, 2026, 9:00 am start time. 

Join us for a 5K walk/run to benefit our wonderful library nestled in the Catskill mountains. Our run will take place at the gorgeous Ashokan Reservoir Promenade with the most beautiful views around. It's mostly flat, with one uphill at the start of the course, and much of the route is closed to traffic. 

Wear costumes! Dress up as your favorite character from any book, movie, TV show, comic book, screen play or fairy tale! Or come as yourself!

There are overall awards, and awards for the top three in all standard 10-year age groups. Plus, there will be an award for the best costume!

Families and kiddos are welcome! Kids under 10 are free, but will not receive a shirt. 

If you would like to register the day of the event, registration will begin at 8 am, and will be $35. Pre-registration is recommended.

Parking will be at Brown's Station, also known as the Aerators. Spaces are limited, so please be sure to carpool. 

Participants who register before August 19th will receive a T-shirt.

We will have a water stop along the course. Complimentary refreshments and post-race snacks provided courtesy of the Olive Free Library. 

Timing will be provided by Mid-Hudson Timing.

Due to the fundraising nature of this event no refunds will be granted.
