The beer mile is a 1-mile drinking event combining running and speed drinking. The event will take place on a 1/4-mile course in the parking lots and streets surrounding Bottle Rocket Beer Reserve. It begins with the consumption of a 12-US-fluid-ounce beer, followed by a full lap of the course. Repeat for a total of 4 laps.

The event is limited to a total of 90 participants.  There will be 3 heats of 30 each @ 10:00am, 10:30am and 11:00am. Select your time slot during registration.

Beer to be served for the participants during the event will be Genesee Cream Ale.

Event is open to those 21 years of age and older, subject to verification at the event.

The beer mile is the ultimate feat of athleticism and drinking prowess. It takes a certain type of person to finish four laps and down a beer at each quarter mile — the rare breed of person who is as skilled at running as keeping down beer.

The beer mile is pretty simple. Drink 4 beers and run 4 laps in alternating fashion as quickly as you can. But just to be sure everyone is on the same playing field, here some rules to follow:

1. Each competitor drinks four cans or bottles of beer and runs four laps (start with chugging a beer, then run a lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap - finish).
2. Beer must be consumed within the drinking area before the lap begins.
3. Competitors can walk/move in the drinking area while drinking, but all beer must be consumed in the drinking area before setting off to run a lap.
4. Beer cans must not be tampered with in any manner. (e.g. no shotgunning, puncturing the can, squeezing the can, etc.). The same applies for bottles - no straws or other aids allowed that speed up the pouring process. The only action allowed is opening the can with the tab at the top or twisting off the bottle cap of a bottle.
5. Competitors must follow the course as laid out - through parking lots and on sidewalks. Running in the road will not be allowed.

This will be a self timed event.  Official times will be recorded only for the first male and first female to cross the finish line.

A time clock will be present for participants to note their lap and finish times. 

The Overall Male and Female winners for best time of the combined 3 groups, will win gear (head to toe) from Brooks Running.

We encourage all participants to participate responsibly by bringing with them a designated driver, using public transportation, or ride sharing.
