Bournelyf 5k Run/2k Walk presented by Bentley Systems

The Bournelyf 5k Run and 2k Walk is back in downtown West Chester.  Thank you to Bentley Systems for serving as our title sponsor again this year!  The race will take place on Thursday, May 7th, 2026 at 6:30 PM.

Check-in, T-shirt Pick-Up and Registration will be in the Nudy's Parking Lot starting at 5:00 PM.  Nudy's is located at the corner of Market and New Streets, right by the finish line and 2 blocks from the start line.  

After the race, join us at Wrong Crowd Beer Company for the after party and some great prizes (including cash prizes!).  All 21+ runners/walkers will get a free beer or drink!

The race benefits Bournelyf Special Camp, a summer camp in West Chester for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Learn more about the work that we do!

Bournelyf Camper Information

Spring is on its way, and we are geared up for our Annual 5k Run/ 2K Walk in downtown West Chester, Thursday, May 7th at 6:30 PM. Please note that all campers and their support staff register for FREE! We are partnered with Wrong Crowd Brewery for the after party, sharing FREE food, a FREE beer (21 or older), or beverage for volunteers and participants. We run, we walk, we roll in wheelchairs/strollers, and we run with guides!  All you have to do is use the code CAMPER at check out for free registration for your camper. Support staff can register using the code SUPPORT for free registration for 1 support staff. Note: You will have to register staff and campers in separate transactions as only 1 code can be used per transaction.

WHAT IS THE 5K RUN/2K WALK? 

It is a fundraising event for your campers and CAMP!  
All proceeds will directly benefit Bournelyf. Funds raised will help to keep tuition affordable, hire qualified, motivated staff, and provide activities and experiences throughout Chester County and the surrounding region.

WHAT WILL THIS EVENT LOOK LIKE FOR CAMPERS? 

This is an opportunity for campers, their families, and friends to join community runners and walkers to promote awareness of and raise funds for Bournelyf. The event takes place in downtown West Chester. Using paved streets/sidewalks, 5K runners start the event and 2K walkers follow. 

WHAT IS THE COST OF REGISTRATION? 

All Bournelyf campers (former and current) are FREE!  Support Personnel are FREE as well! 
**Please be aware that campers and support personnel are FREE of charge, however campers and family members must register on the race website.  Campers register using the code CAMPER and support staff can registre using the code SUPPORT. WHAT DOES MY REGISTRATION INCLUDE? 

All campers are free to participate (code: CAMPER) but must register by April 14, 2026, to guarantee a T-shirt. Additionally, registration includes a bib number, post-race food and a beer for all campers who are 21 or older. There will also be medals awarded to all campers doing the walk or run. 

MAY I DROP OFF MY CAMPER? 

No, you are responsible for your camper at all times. Staff are not hired to escort campers. Support personnel (FREE to participating using the code SUPPORT) may escort your camper under your responsibility.  

HOW DOES MY CAMPER FUNDRAISE?
You can create a fundraiser through the race website on the become a fundraiser page. Additionally, if you sign up for the race, you will be prompted to create a fundraiser. 

WHERE DO I PARK?

There are a few parking options for the day of the race. The map below shows the locations of these options:

1. There is a small parking lot right by Wrong Crowd that is accessible via Hannum Ave or Gay Street
2. The parking garage on Market Street (across from the courthouse) is between the start and finish lines
3. The parking garage on High St is 1 block from the start line

Additional street parking is available but may be difficult to secure. 

IS THE 2K WALK COMPETITIVE? 

No, the 2K Walk does not receive cash or prize awards. The goal is to represent BSC in our local community as we share our presence and raise funds for camp at the same time!

WHAT IS THE BOURNELYF 5K RUN/2K WALK?

It is a fundraising event for Bournelyf Special Camp, located in West Chester, Pa. Bournelyf Special Camp is the only summer day camp of its kind in Chester County, Pa. providing outdoor recreational activities for individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities, ages 8 and up.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE LOOK LIKE?

IS THERE DAY OF REGISTRATION?

Race day registration will also be available starting at 5:30 PM on the day of the race outside of Wrong Crowd Beer Company.  You can also sign up on the race website up until the start of the race, but you will still need to check in at Wrong Crowd to receive your race bib.  Note: if the race reaches capacity before race day, there will be no day of registration. 

WHAT DOES MY REGISTRATION INCLUDE?

Registration includes chip timing, race shirt, free food at the after party and if over 21 a ticket to redeem for a free beer at Wrong Crowd Beer Company. NOTE: Race shirts are only guaranteed for people who register before April 14, 2026.

WHAT ARE THE RACE PRIZES?

Cash prizes will be awarded for the top 3 male/female 5K runners. ($100 for 1st, $75 for 2nd, $50 for 3rd place). In addition, there will be age group awards for 18 and under, 19-39, and 40 and over.

IS THERE A RAIN DATE?

No, the event is rain or shine.

MAY I BRING A STROLLER OR WHEELCHAIR TO THE EVENT?

Yes, the course is through downtown West Chester on sidewalks and road surface.

CAN I ATTEND THE POST RACE PARTY ONLY?

No. The race has grown in popularity over the past few years and there is limited space at the after party. In order to maximize the number of participants, we are only allowing runners/walkers to attend the after party. 

HOW DO I MAKE A DONATION?

You can donate through the race website on the donations page.  You can either make a general donation or donate to a specific fundraiser/camper.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

Yes, well behaved dogs on leashes are allowed at the race, however they are not allow inside of Wrong Crowd.

Bournelyf Special Camp

Bournelyf Special Camp is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in West Chester, Pa. Bournelyf offers summer day camp,  year round programs and alumni vacations.

Serving individuals with mild to moderate intellectual & developmental disabilities ages 8 through adulthood, our mission is to develop participants’ abilities by helping them build confidence, improve social and communication skills, and become more physically fit through challenging, but achievable physical activities and by interaction with others.

The course is the regular downtown West Chester loop.  The start line is located at the corner of Church Street and Market Street, a few blocks from Wrong Crowd.  The finish line is on Market Street near Nudy's Cafe (less than 2 blocks from Wrong Crowd).  2k Walkers will complete 1 loop of the course, while 5k Runners/Walkers will complete 2 loops.

After the race, join us back at Wrong Crowd Beer Company for awards and a post race party.  All runners/walkers (21+) will receive a ticket that can be redeemed for a free beer.  We will also have free food available for all runners, walkers and volunteers!  Wrong Crowd has a wide variety of craft beer in addition to wine and a food menu featuring pizzas, wings and nachos.  

Cash prizes will be awarded for the top 3 male and female 5k runners.  $100 for 1st place, $75 for 2nd place and $50 for 3rd place.  In addition, we will have some great age group awards for the following age groups:  18 & Under, 19-39, 40 & Over.
