We are BACK to the flat, fast, streets of North Kansas City on June 6, 2026 for Brandon Russell's 10th Flash Dash! Join us for our annual 5k run/walk or a 1 mile walk. For the younger dashers we will again be offering our popular Kid's Dash!

All racers will receive a race t-shirt and medal!

You must register by Sunday, May 23rd to guarantee a shirt and your preferred shirt size. 

We will have additional shirts available for those that register after May 23rd but we cannot guarantee availability, size, or cut.

• 8:50 Runners & Walkers to the Start

• 9:00 5k Start

• 9:05 Walk Start

• 9:50 Kids to the Start for Kid's Dash

• 10:00 Kids Dash Start

Flash Dash 5k will be chip-timed by KC Running Company (1 mile and Kids Dash are not timed events)

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Brandon Russell Memorial Foundation, enabling it to donate and participate in causes and efforts in keeping with its mission "To enrich lives and help fulfill the full potential of humanity through compassion, fitness, and forging lasting bonds."

*Race uses a pre-approved is city-planned course. The course will be marked and manned by volunteers on race day. Please note, that the course may see minor changes on race day due to unforeseen construction, conditions, etc. Any major changes or deviations will be noted here and updates pushed via email.

Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 Overall finishers, as well as Age Group winners in both the Men's and Women's divisions!

Brandon Lee Russell, 34, of North Kansas City passed away April 8, 2017.  His life ended way too soon doing one of the things he loved most, running. Six weeks later the Brandon Russell Memorial Foundation held its first event, Brandon Russell's Flash Dash 5k. Inspired by Brandon's love of running, North Kansas City, and his favorite comic book hero, The Flash, the race is an annual celebration of what defined him, compassion, fitness, and lasting bonds.

Race day parking is available near the Start/Finish and Race Day Village in a lot just off of Armour Rd between Fayette St and Howell St.

Please be aware that 18th St will be closed as we prepare for the race, so your best access will be to approach from Armour Rd and use the North entrances off over Fayette and Howell. 

In the event that the lot is full, there is additional parking near Chicken N Pickle and ample street parking throughout North Kansas City.

While we always plan on ordering up perfect race day conditions, the Midwest can be unpredictable. To keep everyone safe, our race officials may cancel, delay, or change the event in the case of extreme weather or conditions that may affect the safety and health of our participants.  In the event of a cancellation, refunds will not be issued.
