Burn Boot Camp Murrysville "Be Their Muscle" MDA 5k

Burn Boot Camp Murrysville is proud to partner with the Muscular Dystrophy Association for the Burn Murrysville “Be Their Muscle” 5k event. All proceeds go directly to the MDA.

The MDA is the #1 voluntary health organization in the United States for people living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases. For over 70 years, MDA has led the way in accelerating research, advancing care, and advocating for the support of our families. MDA’s mission is to empower the people we serve to live longer, more independent lives. Funds raised during the Burn Murrysville MDA 5k event will be used for:

• Research: accelerate the discovery of therapies and cures – MDA’s research they have supported is directly linked to approved, life-changing therapies across multiple neuromuscular diseases. There have been 15 FDA approved treatments for neuromuscular diseases in just the past 7 years.
• Care: MDA funds the largest network of multidisciplinary clinics providing best in class care at more than 150 of the nation’s top medical institutions; produces educational events and conferences for medical professionals and families; provides one on one support through our resource center.
• Advocacy: Access to care and therapies from day one (newborn screening); Accelerating therapeutic development; Empowerment and Independence (access to education, employment, travel).
• Summer Camp: MDA provides transformative life-changing camp experiences to thousands of children and young adults ages 8-17. Kids learn vital life skills, make life-long friendships, gain independence and confidence – at no cost to families.

For over seven decades, MDA has paved the way for breakthroughs in science and care and access for families and the disability community and continues to lead the way in innovative fundraising to support the mission.

The course will begin behind the community center and is an out and back course on the beautiful Westmoreland Heritage Trail.

There will be a water stop at the half way point behind Cleveland Brothers.

Race Day Packet Pick Up - 4/19/26

• 7:15 am - 8:00 am at the Murrysville Community Center

Parking is located onsite at the Murrysville Community Center.

Restrooms are located inside the Murrysville Community Center.

All participants will receive a custom race water bottle. While supplies last.

• Top 3 overall men and women will receive awards.
