🌯🏃‍♂️ Burrito Biathlon – The Ultimate Run, & Eat Challenge! 🚴‍♂️🌯

Guess what’s back… back again! That’s right—after an 11-year hiatus, the Burrito Biathlon is officially making its comeback!

This one-of-a-kind event combines running, and burritos for the ultimate endurance (and eating) challenge. Whether you're in it to race hard or just earn that mid-race burrito, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

A biathlon is generally defined as an athletic contest consisting of two different events. 

A burrito is… we don’t really have to define a burrito for you, do we? Hint --> 🌯

Anyway, if you’ve ever had a post-run burrito, you know how well running and eating burritos go together 😋

We figure, why wait until you finish running? Let’s throw the burrito eating into the middle of the run so we all become instant biathletes! You’ll run to The Burrito Zone at Von Loppys where you’ll need to finish your burrito before sprinting to the Finish Line.

You know what some people might call this idea… Neato Burrito! 😆

TL;DR:

Run a little, eat a (little) burrito, run a little more. Bing, bang, boom: Burrito Biathlon!

Now that is the questions to ask, but we always encourage them. There will be an award for best costume!

Everyone who is registered by noon Friday, August 23 will be guaranteed a custom cotton unisex t-shirt. After that, t-shirts will be available while online supplies last. Any extra shirts will be distributed after the race on a first come, first served basis. 

Kids can run the FREE Kiddo's 1K if a parent is running. They will get a bib and finisher medal, but they must be registered in order to run. Shirts are available for purchase during registration.

Sorry the kiddos don't get a taco on course, but they may be available for purchase at Von Loppys!

The race is chip timed by Silver Circle Sports Events and the chip is on your bib.  

How to wear your bib.  

PLEASE BRING YOUR EMAIL RECEIPT WITH YOU!  

You do not need to print it, but we will need to scan the QR code on the email receipt, so please have your email accessible on your mobile device or save a picture of your receipt with the QR code to your device’s image library. We strongly encourage you to pick up your packet early.

The course starts at Fireman's Park and makes it way through Ixonia, past Von Loppys (aka burrito zone) and finishes in Fireman's Park. It is a super flat and fast race.

Overall Awards
Overall Male & Female runners for each distance will receive a custom award provided by our partner Ridgeway Woodworks. 

Age Group Awards
Top 3 male & female finishers in 5 year age groups will receive a custom woodle. Age groups are 0-14, then every 5 years.

Finisher Woodles
All finishers will receive a custom finisher woodle from Ridgway Woodworks.

We know, hey! Ixonia is an awesome small town only a couple miles of our headquarters in Oconomowoc. It is also home to Von Loppys, which is an great local pub and grill. One of our favorites with great food and very reasonable prices!

It has a very interesting history.

It was on February 12, 1841 when a part of Watertown, Towns seven and eight north of Range 16 were set off to organize the town of Union. It remained the town of Union for only five years and then was divided into two individual towns. Town 7 was called Concord without any disagreement, but a dispute resulted in the naming of town 8. To simplify matters it was agreed upon to put the letters of the alphabet on slips of paper and have young Mary Piper draw them until a name could be formed. As the result, "Ixonia" was the name given town 8 on January 21, 1846, and remains the only town bearing this name in the United States.

How to get to Ixonia
Easy peasy. It is only 4 mile west of Oconomowoc on Highway 16 or 5 miles north of I-94 on Highway F.

HOW TO TRANSFER, DEFER, CHANGE SHIRTS SIZE, & CHANGE DISTANCES

• Login into RunSignUp.com
• Select your Profile.
• Scroll down to the race you would like to modify.
• Select "Manage Registration".
• All of the race options will be listed on the menu (transfers, change shirts size, modify team, change distances, resend confirmation / QR code & deferrals)

There will be one aid station on course at the burrito zone!
