Teams will take turns walking while enjoying
activities, music, food trucks, and drinks (including wine & beer)!

Opening Ceremonies
Followed by:
Honor walks for survivors, caregivers, children fighting cancer
and to celebrate and remember those we lost.
Prizes will be awarded for
best costume, most spirit, best decorated team tent and more!

  • Click the pink “Sign Up” button in the upper right corner.
  • Input all of your personal information so we can contact you
  • Choose 1 of 2 Fundraising options:
    • You are able to attend the Cancer Walk Presented by Mercyhealth.
    • You are unable to attend the Cancer Walk Presented by Mercyhealth but would like to Fund raise.
    • If you have a team and all of their information you can add them now by selecting “+ add another registrant”
    • Check the box to sign the waiver
    • Move to the next page
  • Answer each question on this page per your preference
    • Move to the next page
  • Create your Fundraiser/Join a Team/Create a Team
    • Individual Fundraisers: You do not have to do anything on this page, your individual fundraiser will automatically be created.

Team Leader/Captain Job Description

Team Leader Job Description

A Cancer Walk Team Leader supports the Rock County Cancer Coalition by leading a team in the Cancer Walk Event with hopes of raising a minimum of $1,300 per team for the Walk.
Team Leader Tasks
  • A Team Leader agrees to serve in the following capacities:
  • Recruit a team of 2-15 members.
  • Set a fundraising goal for your team. (The minimum fundraising goal is $1,300 per team. This is the grant amount that RCCC gives to each grant recipients)
Team Leader Optional Tasks
  • Bring a 10x10 tent to the event for your team to have a home base.
  • Encourage your team to:
    • Decorate your tent and coordinate event day costumes
    • Create a team shirt or purchase the Cancer Walk event shirt.
PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED TO THE BEST DECORATED TENTS AND TEAM COSTUMES!
  • Recognize cancer survivors and fighters on your team and participate in the survivorship and fighter celebrations at the event.
  • Distribute fundraising tools to your team members
  • Coach and motivate your team to success using email, phone calls, Facebook, etc.
  • Coordinate creative fundraisers to help your team raise money.
  • Attend the RCCC Team Leader meetings for the Walk. A virtual option will be available for these meetings.
  • Congratulate your team members for their commitment to the fight against cancer.
  • Watch for your biweekly Cancer Walk Emails for ideas & Tips for success!
