Capitol Ford presents the fifth annual Santa Fe International Half Marathon. This event welcomes runners of all ages and abilities, whether you are looking for a personal best, trying a new challenge, or bringing your family for a fun day.

This year we are proud to run for water in collaboration with the Kitany Water Project to help bring clean, sustainable water to underserved communities. Get more information about our water project.

Race Options

  • Half Marathon (13.1 mi, GPX-measured): Starts at Romero’s Park in Agua Fría. An opening loop through Agua Fría Village (miles 0–4.9), then out and back along the Santa Fe River corridor to a turnaround at mile 9 — the 6,883 ft high point — finishing at Reunity Resources Farm. Paved the whole way. Elevation 6,567–6,883 ft with about 651 ft of climbing. Time limit 4:30 — the course closes at 12:00 PM. There is no fixed intermediate cutoff at the turnaround.
  • 3-Amigos Relay: Team up with two friends or first responders to complete the half marathon course as a team of three. Same 7:30 AM start at Romero’s Park.
  • 5K (3.12 mi): Starts at 8:00 AM at Reunity Resources Farm — 30 minutes after the Half and Relay, so the course clears — and finishes there too.
  • Kids 1K Dash: ages 3 to 13. Free, and held Saturday, September 19 at Railyard Park downtown — walk in during the expo to register, no pre-registration necessary.

Strollers are welcome on the half marathon, 5K and relay — new for 2026, and possible because the course is paved throughout.

Aid & Medical

Five aid stations, seven service points: miles 2 and 4 on the opening loop, dual-sided stations serving miles 6 & 12 and 7.5 & 10.5 on the corridor, and the mile-9 turnaround station with ALS medical. Restrooms at every station plus the start and finish. Certified medical personnel are on course.

Kids Indigo T-Shirt Workshop with Gasali Adeyemo

Children ages 3 to 14 are invited to a free, hands-on indigo art workshop with renowned African artist Gasali Adeyemo — a unique cultural activity blending creativity, tradition, and fun. Kids learn about African indigo dyeing techniques and design their own race-themed T-shirt to take home. Supplies provided, no experience needed. New for 2026: the workshop is held one week before race weekend, on Sunday, September 13, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, at Reunity Resources Farm, 1829 San Ysidro Crossing — not at the expo.
