Chappy Point to Point

The longest continually running road race on Martha's Vineyard, the Chappy Point to Point is a 5-mile race from the waters of Wasque Point to the ferry at Chappy Point. 

Registration is limited to 340 runners. Walkers are welcome. 

Race bibs can be picked up on June 27th at Memorial Wharf between 4:00 - 5:00 pm or in the Chappy Ferry parking lot from 7.00 - 8.00 am on June 28th.  Runners who pick up their bibs on Saturday will receive a free passenger round trip on the Chappy Ferry. Vans will shuttle runners from the Parking Lot to the starting point at Wasque Point from 7.00 - 8.00 am.

Proceeds from this year’s race will be used to purchase a vessel composter to be installed at Slip Away Farm for the benefit of Chappy residents. The composter will divert food scraps and organic waste from the waste stream, reducing the volume of trash hauled off-island and cutting the methane emissions that result when organics decompose in landfills. The finished compost will be used to enrich soil with nutrients and beneficial microbes, improving water retention, supporting healthier plant growth, and reducing the need for chemical fertilizers. This is a convenient, sustainable way to manage household waste while contributing to the productivity of Chappy’s very own Slip Away Farm.
