Half Marathon will be an out and back course = 6.55 Miles on the Monon Trail Starting/Finishing at Big Lug canteen!

 5K will be an out and back course = 1.55 Miles on the Monon Trail Starting/Finishing at Big Lug canteen!

 

 

Q: I cannot come, what are my options?  Can I get a refund?
A:  Sorry there are no refunds for any reason.  We offer 5 different options to choose from.

1) You may switch to virtual and have your swag mailed for $20 (price per person) and run/walk anywhere you want.

2) You may pick up at the early packet pickup or have a friend pick up your swag on race day and run/walk anywhere you want.  (must request finisher's medal when picking up if wanting to do virtually at another time).

3) You may sell/give away your entry to a family/friend at no additional cost. (FREE Available until July 14) After the 14th is a $15 Transfer Fee.

4) Defer your entry to 2026 for $25 (Available Until July 14).

5) Donate your registration fees to the Charity Partner!

 

Q:  Did the race location move in 2025?

A:  Yes... The Half Marathon shaded course is under construction until 2027.  We really wanted to keep as much shade as possible as there has been for the last 5 years.  The Monon trail has many shaded areas to run/walk through!  We are very excited for this new route in 2025 and hope you are excited to sleigh through too! We hope to return downtown in  2027 as the new Henry Bridge is scheduled to be completed!

 

Q:When is Packet Pickup?

Q:  Are there water stops on the 5K and Half Marathon course?
A:  Yes, every 1-2 miles. We also have some stops with full water bottles available. You are welcome to carry a full bottle of water with you until the next water stop. Must dispose all bottles in trash cans or recycle bins.
 
Q:  Will the race still happen if it is raining or storming?
A:  Yes!!!  We will only delay for lightning or tornado.
 
Q:  Can my kids register for the 5K or Half Marathon race?
A:  Yes, they sure can!  
 
Q:  Is the 5K or Half Marathon course stroller-friendly?   May I push a stroller? 
A:  Yes – please be courteous of runners in a hurry.  Please be cautious for other runners/walkers as the Monon trail is an out n back course.
 
Q:  Is the 5K or Half Marathon dog-friendly?  Can I bring my dog? 
A:  Yes – and no charge:)  you know the rules… clean up. Please be respectful of other runners. Please advise that July temps can be HOT!

 

Q:  Parking?

A:  3 Locations to Choose from:
1) Total Wine / Monon Parking. 
This lines up with the Monon and walking across is very easy. There is the light at 86th street which takes time but not complicated to get across. (Nora Corners Shopping Center, 1460 E 86th St, Indianapolis, IN 46240)

2) Whole Foods, Culinary Dropout, Etc Parking. 
This is across the Monon as well with easy access. It is less than a 10-minute walk and no one would tow. (1300 E 86th St, Indianapolis, IN 46240)

3) Empty building North of the YMCA. 
This building no longer has occupants and has easy access to the Monon. People would not need to cross 86th which definitely makes it easier. (8450 Westfield Blvd, Indianapolis, IN 46240)

Q:  Can I Walk?

A:  Yes.  The 5K has no time restriction.  The Half Marathon does. Time limit is 4 hours. If you fall behind the trail vehicle, you may catch a ride.  Otherwise, you are totally on your own.  Traffic cones will be picked up.  Volunteers will not be on the course once the trail vehicle arrives at their areas.

Q:  Are there 5K Awards? 
A: Yes, Top 3 Male/Female Overall will Win a Santa Trophy and Christmas Koozie or Socks.
 

 Top 3 Male/Female in each Age Group. Top 3 in each Age Group will Win an Age Group Medal and a Fun Christmas In July Koozie or Socks.

A:  No, all prizes must be picked up during Awards Announcement. Be sure to check results before you leave.
