Christmas in Lafreniere Park Run/Walk

HOORAY FOR THE HOLIDAYS! The Crescent City Classic will hold their holiday run/walk in beautiful Lafreniere Park on Saturday, December 5, 2026 (start time is 4pm). The 2-mile course takes you through Lafreniere Park during their annual Christmas in the Park Lights Display.  The park is decorated with over 10 million LED lights. The park's festive displays include traditional Christmas lighted figures, the 60 foot Sea Serpent in the lagoon, and many NOLA favorites! The event is filled with gumbo, hot chocolate, beer and other refreshments, photos with Santa, a holiday costume contest, and much more!

 The Christmas in Lafreniere Park Run/Walk is especially popular among families. Run competitively or enjoy a leisurely walk through the park with friends and family.  Participants can enjoy free refreshments and complimentary entry into both the Christmas in the Park Lights Driving Tour AND the Walking Tour of the beautifully lighted Pavilion Island BEFORE the gates are open to the general public! 

What do I receive with my registration? All registrants will receive a festive glow-in-the-dark shirt (children's sizes available), race bib, and a complimentary EARLY entrance into the Christmas in Lafreniere Park driving and walking tour Lights Display. 

EARLY PACKET PICK-UP OPTIONS:
·      Wednesday 12/10/25. Time: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Raising Cane's. 4036 Veterans Blvd, Metairie, LA 70006 (corner of Lake Villa and Vets Blvd).
·      Thursday 12/11/25. Time: 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm. Lafreniere Foundation Center. 3000 Downs Blvd, Metairie, LA 70003

RACE DAY PACKET PICK-UP OPTION: 
Saturday 12/13/25 beginning at 2:30pm near the Al Copeland Concert Stage in Lafreniere Park.

2:30 PM: Festivities begin including Kids Fun Zone with inflatables and face painting, photos with Santa and more.
Packet Pick-up and Registration opens.

3:15 PM: Christmas caroling with AMANDA SHAW!

3:45 PM: All vehicles must enter Lafreniere Park from Veterans Memorial Blvd/Downes Blvd gates. 
EVERYONE MUST ENTER THE PARK BEFORE 3:45 AS ENTRANCE GATES WILL BE LOCKED AT THIS TIME. You can park outside of the gates if you arrive late and use the sidewalk/walk-thru entrance near the main park gates.

4:00PM: The Christmas in Lafreniere Park Run/Walk begins!

5:00 PM: Lafreniere Park Driving and Walking Lights Display opens for race participants only.

5:30 PM: General public is allowed to enter the Lafreniere Park Lights Display. Enter at the West Napoleon gates with your race bib for free admission. Place your race bib on dashboard of car. Attendance is on 12/13/25 ONLY.

Now through 11/3/25: $30
11/4/25 – 12/7/25: $35
12/7/25-12/13/25: $40

 
Children age 3-10 automatically receive a $5 discount
Children age 2 and under are free! They can participate in the event and attend Christmas in Lafreniere Park Lights Display without registering. Those age 2 and under do not receive a shirt or race bib.
 
All participants will receive:
- Christmas in Lafreniere Park Race Bib (untimed) 
- GLOW-IN-THE-DARK T-shirt (children's sizes available)
- Free entry into Christmas in the Park Driving Tour  
- Free EARLY entry into the Christmas in the Park Pavilion Island Walking Light Display 
   (Entry before the general public) 

Invite your friends and family to join you and SAVE $
 
Teams of 10 or more participants will receive a $3 discount off of their registration fee.  The initial member of the group will be able to create the team and team name. As other members of the group register, they will join the team by selecting the team name from the drop-down menu.
 
·      The first 9 team members will pay the regular registration price.
       When the 10th person joins the team, he/she and all others who join the team will receive a $3 discount.
·      As soon as the 10th registration is complete, the first 9 team members who are already registered will receive a $3 refund to their original form of payment.
 
*Children age 3-10 who received the $5 kids discount will not qualify to receive the team discount. Only one discount per registrant!

The Toys for Tots Program is accepting monetary and toy donations.
 
There are two ways to give:
1.     Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate for a child in need - look for the Toys for Tots table near registration to drop off your toy.
2.     You can make a monetary donation during registration. 
 
Your support helps millions of less fortunate children share in the magic of the holidays. Your donation goes directly to the Toys for Tots mission of providing toys, books, and other gifts to less fortunate children.
