FAQ
What is Circle of Care?
Circle of Care is a Wilton-based nonprofit organization that supports families in Connecticut, Westchester County, and Southwestern Massachusetts that have heard the words “Your child has cancer.”
Our programs and services exist to support these families beginning on their day of diagnosis, throughout their treatment, and lasting beyond – wherever their journey leads. For the past 20 years we’ve expanded and perfected our programs to comprehensively support families every step of the way.
How does my participation help?
Your registration fee and participation are two major shows of support for the families in our Circle. Whether you are walking or running, you are showing families of children with cancer that they are not in this alone – we all stand with them.
And to the families in our Circle - showing up with your team of family and friends who have supported you throughout your journey is a great way to spread awareness!
Why fundraise?
While your registration fee does support our fundraising efforts – our Walk/Run is one of our three major annual fundraising events. This year, our goal of raising $100,000 is only possible with the help of our sponsors and fundraisers. The money you raise through fundraising primarily supports our Financial Assistance program, which helps families cover their non-medical expenses during treatment.
Often, parents must stop working during their child’s treatment to provide the level of care their child needs. Medical copays are just one of the surmounting costs incurred during a child’s cancer treatment. Between these unexpected expenses and the loss of work, families can struggle to pay their basic expenses like rent, car insurance, and groceries. Our financial assistance alleviates these non-medical expenses for families so that they can focus on caring for their child rather than keeping a roof over their heads or food on their table.

Meet Bryson... Our Champion! 📣

Your participation in Make Tracks supports families of kids like Bryson. Join us on 9/28 as Bryson "rings the bell" to start our race. At just five years old, Bryson was diagnosed with leukemia. He immediately underwent surgery and began treatment. With his mom, Mahogany, needing to shift to part-time work to care for him, their family carried the weight of treatment and unexpected financial pressures. That’s when they met Circle of Care, and we were able to step in to help with bills while Bryson was in treatment.
Today, Bryson is nine, in remission, and back to being a kid again... doing triathlons, gaming, and being a great big brother. This September, we’re proud to honor him as our Champion at Make Tracks.
