Chip Timing
Provided by First Place Timing
How It Works: ChronoTrack + B‑Tag Timing
Your official race time is recorded by ChronoTrack using a disposable B‑Tag electronically embedded on your bib. To ensure your time is captured accurately, please:
- Attach the bib flat on the front of your torso, unaltered and pinned at all four corners
- Don’t fold, wrinkle, or cover the bib with jackets, belts, or hydration gear
- Wear it from start to finish—the B‑Tag must stay with the bib you were assigned; removing it invalidates your time
B‑Tag Timing
When you cross the starting mat, your B‑Tag (linked to your name, gender, age, etc.) is read, starting your chip time. Once you cross the finishing mat, it registers again. Just be sure to cross each timing mat for your time to count.
Chip Time vs. Gun Time (Powered by ChronoTrack)
- Gun Time (Clock Time):
Starts when the starter pistol fires, ending when you cross the finish. Used to determine the overall Male/Female winners—whoever crosses the line first. - Chip Time (Net Time):
Matches the exact time between your personal start and finish—your true running performance. This is what counts for age-group awards, personal records (PRs), and qualifiers, unaffected by delays in crowded starts.
Awards Breakdown
- Top 3 overall male and female finishers:
Based on Gun Time (i.e., first across the line). - Age-group awards:
Based on Chip Time, automatically recorded by your B‑Tag.
