About Coastal Walk & 5K Run
October 17, 2026 | Assateague State Park | Registration – 8am | Race Start – 9am
Beachwood, Inc. Custom Builders presents the Assateague Coastal Walk (sponsored by Assateague State Park & MD Park Services) benefiting Coastal Hospice. Participants can choose to compete (or not) in a 2 mile walk or 5K timed run at this year’s event on Saturday, October 17th at Assateague State Park (campground – day use – 6915 Stephen Decatur Hwy, Berlin, MD). Arrive at 8 am for registration/check-in, refreshments, and music with a 9 am Start.
Registration includes a dri-fit, t-shirt, and medals will be awarded to the placing participants in each of the categories following the race. Registration for this event is $35 per participant with sponsorship opportunities available.

The 5K will start on the paths but will enter onto the beach (heading north) – beautiful sandy beach run to start your day!
The walk will stay on the paved trail leading back to the Assateague State Park Campgrounds.
5k Course Map
The 5k course will start on the paved bike path, for approximately one (1) mile and then move on to the beach, for the remainder of the event. Participants will be able to run down near the water's edge (hard sand) or up NEAR (but not on) the dunes for soft sand.
The 2 mile walk will be completely on the paved bike path and will be an out-and-back course
