Color The Way: HIM's 5K Color Run

Shirt size deadline is April 20, 2026 11:59PM. Extras will be ordered, but after this time, shirts and sizes will be available on a first come, first served basis.

1. Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the color powder.
2. Wear a bandana or other type of face covering to help prevent color powder from entering your mouth and nose. Remember to close your mouth in color zones.
3. Dress in comfortable, athletic clothing and footwear on which you don't mind getting color. We advise white if you want your color to shine its brightest!
4. Pack a towel or trash bag to cover the seat of your car to protect it from the color powder. 
5. Bring baby wipes to gently remove unwanted color from skin.
6. Take before and after photos.
7. Protect your electronics with a plastic bag or other sealed container.
8. Slow down in color zones for max color coverage!

After your run, visit the Henderson Interchurch Ministry table for your color packet for the post-race color war!

Parking

Limited parking is available at Fair Park. Please prioritize parking in the lot adjacent to the Farmer's Market and the Henderson Community Building (corner of S High Street & Fair Park Avenue). There will be no entry at E Ragley & Fair park Drive. All those entering the parking lot at the race site should enter through the southernmost entry point of the parking lot. There will be no traffic allowed into the northern entrance. 

We highly recommend arriving early and carpooling to conserve parking spaces.

Restrooms

Park restrooms are available at Fair Park, adjacent to the Henderson Community Building.

In the event of a rainout or other weather conditions beyond our control, there will be no rescheduled race date.

Should the weather forecast call for unfavorable running conditions, notice will be given to athletes that no weather-related decisions will be made before race morning.

Race communications will be made on Facebook and via email used at registration.

No refunds will be offered as this is a means of fundraising for Henderson Interchurch Ministry. Thanks for your understanding and support!

Important Course Safety Information

The 5K course is "open," meaning there are no road closures. Participants run/walk at their own risk and are expected to remain cognizant of any potential hazards (vehicle traffic, debris and other trip hazards, etc.) while on course. Signage, as well as police officers and other staff/volunteers, will be present on the route to help direct traffic and keep motorists aware of the event in progress. Please remember to obey all traffic/pedestrian laws and remain courteous to all on the roadways: run against the flow of motor traffic when sidewalks are not available, do not run/walk more than 2 abreast (side-by-side), do not make sudden movements i.e. stopping abruptly or darting in a different direction, etc. We thank you in advance for helping to maintain safety for all involved!

This schedule is subject to change at the discretion of the race director.

Rules

1. All athletes must wear official race bib prominently and visibly on the front her person, on the outside layer of clothing at all times.
2. Athletes must begin at the proper gun time. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
3. All athletes on course must be registered through this website - no exceptions. NO BANDITS! If you are caught banditing, you may be asked to leave and prohibited from entering the race in the future.
4. Switching or selling your bib is prohibited outside of the official transfer method. Participants may self-transfer to another athlete by following these instructions.
5. This is a family-friendly race and strollers are welcome! However, if your child will be out of the stroller's harness at any time while on course, he or she must be registered and documented through this website. No exceptions.
6. Non-electric scooters are allowed for children ages 10 and under only. Note that the use of scooters will nullify eligibility for age group awards.

Code of Conduct

All attendees are expected to display attitudes and behaviors appropritate for the fun, family-friendly celebration and fundraiser that the Color the Way 5K is! Cursing, blatant disrespect, and generally rude behavior towards anyone, including but not limited to: other participants, volunteers, race staff, sponsors, timers, or any other party present, will not be tolerated. In the event that the issue becomes excessive, attendees may be asked to leave the premisis and not invited back in coming years. Remember that this is a community event ran largely by volunteers who are donating their time and doing their best. Thank you in advance for your compliance. 

Results will be available live, online at www.itri365.com/results. There will be a strict 24-hour time limit to dispute finish times; it is best to report issues while the race is in progress. 

Awards will be presented to the top 3 male finishers and top 3 female finishers in the following age groupings: 

• 10 and under
• 11-17
• 18-49
• 50+
