About Community Connection 5K
The Community Connection 5K is more than a race — it’s a chance for our city to come together for a worthy cause. Join us on August 1st, 2026, at Lions Club Park in Killeen for a family‑friendly event focused on health, unity, and giving back.
The first 220 registered runners are guaranteed an official race shirt, which will be included in their swag bag during packet pickup. The first 220 participants to cross the finish line are guaranteed a finisher medal.
Standard age‑group awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and the overall male and female winners will each receive a trophy.
This year’s race proudly benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Central Texas, supporting programs that empower local youth with mentorship, leadership development, and opportunities that matter. Whether you’re running, walking, or showing up for community, you’ll be part of a welcoming environment built on connection and encouragement.
The HWDS Foundation is committed to strengthening mental and physical well‑being through movement, mentorship, and community support. Proceeds from this event fuel our initiatives and directly support the Boys & Girls Club of Central Texas.
