Welcome to the Crooked Crane Trail 36 Hour race in Dickinson, North Dakota.
Format:
Fat ass, self-support only, no fee.
Course:
1.9-mile paved Crooked Crane Trail in the Patterson Lake Recreation Area at 3753 114th Ave SW, Dickinson, ND 58601.
53 laps will make it 100.7 miles.
Refer to Map (page 2) for the course (orange circle), the modern camping area, and surrounding areas.
Time:
36 hours, from 12am Mountain Time on September 30 to 12pm Mountain Time on October 1.
Size limit:
10, or when camping site is at capacity (<10).
Race rules:
- Runners must make reservations for (modern) camping, with check-in on September 29 and check-out on October 1, for a fee of $60, at the Camping Reservation Site (account registration is required). NO RUNNERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO RUN THE RACE WITHOUT A CAMPING RESERVATION.
- Runners must register by 12am Mountain Time on September 23 at runsignup.com.
- Runners must be at least 18 years of age and sign the waiver during registration.
- The start and finish of each lap is next to the Info Booth.
- The circular loop can be run either clockwise or counterclockwise, and runners can change direction at the end of each lap (next to the Info Booth).
- Runners can start anytime after the official race start time.
- Runners can finish anytime before the official race end time, after which runners must be off course.
- When runners temporarily leave the course, they must reenter the race at the same spot and continue in the same direction.
- Runners must provide their own supplies throughout the race, including yet not limited to, water, sports drink, snacks, and food.
- Runners should be prepared to track their exact distance using a commonly used application (e.g. Strava, Garmin, Apple Health).
- Parking is onsite that comes with the campsite reservation.
