Delta Scholarship Fund 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run

The Delta Scholarship Fund's 5K Run/Walk is back in person and virtual! By allowing both options, our event will be bigger and better than ever!

Sign up now and invite family, friends and colleagues to do the same to support the Delta Scholarship Fund. Lead a team of runners and compete with other departments or colleagues, all in good spirit, and all for a great cause. If you choose not to participate in the race, consider supporting the Delta Scholarship Fund by donating.

The Delta Care and Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization with two divisions, a Care division and a Scholarship division.  All proceeds from this event will benefit the Delta Scholarship Fund.  The Delta Scholarship fund provides educational scholarships to worldwide employees of Delta Air Lines and their eligible dependents.  In 2026, we’ll be awarding $1.75 million in scholarships, thanks to the generosity of Delta employees and our community support.

This will be the Scholarship Funds 14th annual 5K. It will be held in-person in Hapeville, Georgia, the morning of May 3, 2025, and virtually through-out that week.

Our goal is 1,500 runners participating in-person and virtually. Proceeds received from the race go to the Delta Scholarship Fund. The Delta Care and Scholarship Funds Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit available to help provide scholar- ships to help Delta employees realize their dream of a college degree or certification.

All participants will have a chance to enter into a drawing for a Delta Vacations $500.00 gift certificate. This year, we are honoring Donald 'Bullet' Harbin and his family.

Don, “Bullet” to all who knew him, loved Delta Air Lines. He happily served for almost 42 years in Tech Ops, starting his career in the Purchasing department in 1953 and ultimately creating the first Warranty program in the airline industry. He retired in 1995 as the General Manager of Warranty and Contract Administration, but his work for his Delta family did not stop there. Over the next 15 years, until his passing in 2010, he volunteered with the Delta Flight Museum, served on the board of DALRC, was an officer for the Delta Pioneers, and worked with the Delta Care and Scholarship Funds as a fundraiser and retiree consultant. Bullet took incredible pride in being part of the Delta family and would do anything to help a fellow family member in need. Shortly before his passing, he asked his daughter Joni, a member of the Res and Care division since 1996, to request that in lieu of flowers, his friends and family donate to the Delta Care and Scholarship funds in his memory. It gave him peace knowing that he could continue to help his Delta family even after he was gone.

 The Delta Scholarship Fund provides educational scholarships to worldwide employees of Delta Air Lines and their eligible dependents.  In 2019, more than 600 scholarships totaling $1.45M in awards were made, all from the generosity of employee and community support.

Teams of 10 or more** pays $30 ($35 after May 11th) per person!!

**Registrants #1 through #9 will pay regular price at their team size, when #10 registers at discounted price, registrants #1 through #9 will receive an additional $5.00 refund back on credit card used at time of payment. Each additional registrant will be able to register at discounted price.

Support the Delta Scholarship Fund from ANYWHERE!

Here is how it works...

Step 1. Register to run/walk the virtual 5K and invite your friends to join! Register by May 9 to secure your desired t-shirt size and medal.

Step 2. Your race SWAG (shirt and custom race medal) will be shipped to your door via USPS!  You will receive email with tracking # as soon as your items are shipped towards the end of May.

Step 3. Anytime between April 26th – May 4th, 2025 run or walk the distance on your own, using our RaceJoy app or one of your other favorites to track your time and distance! Then, submit your time to be added to the Delta Scholarship Fund 5K results leader board*. Post a picture of your run to Facebook or Instagram using #Delta5k

Step 4: You did it! Enjoy a cup of coffee or ice cream!

*to be eligible for the Overall Male & Female gift card prize you must use the RaceJoy app or upload proof of your time and distance.

You will have two options to submit your results!  

1. Download the RaceJoy App and follow instructions to start your tracking. When you cross the 5K *virtual* finish line your results will automatically be submitted!
2. Use your smart watch or favorite running app to time yourself over 5K then you will be logging your miles directly into the RunSignUp System.  You will get an email with instructions for you to upload directly with your unique link by June 5th!  If you do not get the email, you can follow the below instructions. You will only be able to enter data from 04/26/2025 to 05/04/2025.  If you are having any trouble, please contact: events@runnersfit.com
