Dirty Dozen 5K and Fun Run Obstacle Mud Run

Join us for the 8th Annual Dirty Dozen 5K and Fun Run Obstacle Mud Run on Saturday, September 12, 2026! Featuring a 5K course for ages 7 and up and a Fun Run for participants of all ages, this event promises muddy excitement and fun for everyone!

Whether tackling the 5K course solo or as part of a team or conquering the Fun Run course, participants will face exciting obstacles that challenge their strength, agility, and endurance. Proceeds from the Dirty Dozen 5K Obstacle Mud Run and Fun Run will support innovative YMCA health programs, including those benefiting cancer survivors and individuals managing chronic diseases, making a lasting impact in our community.

Race Day Childcare

Free childcare is available for all YMCA of NWNC Members and Non-Member Volunteers. The cost will be $10 for Non-Members for children 3 months and older to age 10 from 6:30am to 12:00pm. Parents must pre-register for child care at the Jerry Long Family YMCA by calling Member Services at 336 712 2000 or click here for online registration. 

Parents and guardians must reserve a spot by 7:00pm on Friday, September 11, 2026. Additional $5 fee for late registrations!  If you have any questions, please contact Margaret Ramirez at m.ramirez@ymcanwnc.org

Participants can pick up their packets and register late at the Jerry Long Family YMCA located at 1150 S. Peace Haven Road, Clemmons NC, 27012: Friday, September 11: 4:00pm -7:00pm. Limited registrations and packet pick-up available on Saturday, September 12 at the Jerry Long Family YMCA (race day!) 6:30am until around 9:30am. Pre-race packet pick-up is strongly encouraged.

The Dirty Dozen 5K will be timed using the MyLaps timing system. All participants will be given a disposable timing strap that they will wear on their ankle. The strap can be worn on either the left or right ankle (if the strap is on the wrist it will NOT register across the timing system). It is disposable and does not need to be returned after you finish. The timing chip strap is to be worn on your ankle, NOT your wrist

Results will be scrolling on a TV screen located in the red tent that says Event Results.

5K Race Awards
Awards will be given out after the race once all the participants have finished. Given the different heats, it is important that all participants finish the event before awards are calculated because someone who begins in a later heat may complete the course faster than someone who began in an earlier heat. Awards will be given to the Top 3 Male & Female Overall finishers and the Top 3 M/F in the following age group divisions:

Ages 7–9
Ages 10-12
Ages 13-15
Ages 16-20
Ages 21-30
Ages 31-40
Ages 41-50
Ages 51-60
Ages 61-70 (NEW!)
Ages 71-80 (NEW!) 
Ages 81 & up (NEW!) 

Awards will also be given to the Top 3 Teams.  For team awards, the four individual times of the team members will be averaged together to create one Team Time. All team members must finish at the same time. If your team's times are too different from each other, you may not qualify for a medal.

Awards will be given out after the race around 11:00am at the Clemmons Oktoberfest near the Y tent. Awards will not be shipped out post-event.
