About District 19 Race Series
District 19 returns for year seven with a new signal. Born from the belief that running can be a form of activism, District 19 was created as a way to reclaim space, build community, and move with purpose. In a time filled with noise, uncertainty, and division, we turn to movement once again as our voice. This October, every mile becomes a signal and every runner becomes part of something bigger.

District 19 is a run crew-led race experience created by District Running Collective in Washington, DC. Featuring 5K, 19K, and 19 Mile distances, the event was built to challenge traditional race culture and create a more community-centered experience rooted in storytelling, culture, and the city itself. What started as a response to uncertain times has grown into one of the country’s most culturally significant crew-led races, bringing together runners from across the nation to celebrate movement, community, and the future of running culture.
NOTE: Race entry sales are final, non-transferable and non-refundable.
Volunteer Info
The District 19 race series is only possible with the support of our amazing volunteers! Please review the various role descriptions carefully before registering. Keep in mind that end times for race-day shifts are approximate, as needs that day may change. All volunteers are invited to celebrate at the finish line after-party once their shift is over.
Volunteers will receive a Volunteer Guide to help them prepare for their shift. They are also expected to attend a virtual Volunteer Orientation in late September/early October (date TBD) to review race-day logistics and expectations and address outstanding questions. Communication and day-of coordination will happen via email and GroupMe, so please be sure to enter your contact information correctly. As a token of appreciation, each volunteer will also receive a volunteer t-shirt, snacks, and water on race day.
