About Dormont Dash
The Dormont Dash is a decades-long South Hills tradition, and one of the most challenging, hilly, and fun 5K races in the area! Presented by the Borough of Dormont Recreation Board, all proceeds raised from the 5K run and 1-mile fun run benefits the Keystone Oaks Education Association Memorial Scholarship Fund. The race begins and ends at the iconic Dormont Pool, and the course allows runners and walkers to enjoy the beauty of the park and the charming community of Dormont. All ages are welcome to participate so bring a friend, significant other, or the whole family to support a great cause!

The Dormont Dash partners with the Keystone Oaks Education Association. Each year, all proceeds from the event are donated to support the KOEA Memorial Scholarship Fund, which has awarded more than $40,000 since 2006 to graduating seniors at Keystone Oaks High School. The 2023 Dormont Dash raised $3,500 and we are looking to surpass that number this year!
The 2024 race is scheduled for Sunday, September 8th at 8:00 am, and will include a 1-mile fun run. The 5K race will be electronically chip timed and managed by GCXC Race Timing & Management (the 1-mile fun run is NOT chip timed).
We are now accepting sponsors for the 2024 race and donations for participants. The Dormont Dash Experience
STUDENT RATE AVAILABLE
- Students,18 years of age and younger, will save $10 off their registration for the 5k and only pay $15 through May 31st and $20 through August 14th.
- August 15th through race day, the student rate will be $25.
- Discounts will be displayed at checkout.

Late Registration: August 15th and later
- Note: Please register early as late registration does not guarantee race medal or swag and availability will depend on quantity remaining.
There will be NO race day registration this year.
RACE SWAG
Check out the 2025 shirt and medal!
- All participants will receive a custom finishers medal (first 200 runners will be guaranteed a medal).
- Participants will also have the option to purchase a commemorative race day shirt (if pre-ordered by 8/24/25).
- A VERY limited amount of t-shirts will be available for purchase at an additional charge while supplies last at packet pick-up and/or race day.
Only as supplies last (first 200 runners), participants who pick up their race bibs will also receive swag bags.
PACKET PICKUP
Packets will be available in the Dormont Pool Lobby (1801 Dormont Avenue, Dormont, PA 15216) prior to the race (details TBD). We encourage you to pick-up your race bib and swag items in advance to prevent lines at registration on the day of the event. For those that need to pick-up packets the day of the race, please make sure to arrive early (between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m.).
