Earth Day Half Marathon, 5K & Relay

EARTH DAY HALF MARATHON, 5K & Relay      

April 18, 2026

The Earth Day Half Marathon, Relay & 5K will be celebrating it's 12th Anniversary in 2026.  This event has quickly become one of CNY’s most looked forward to springtime races! Along with some of the best swag out there, all participants get a tree to plant! Runners love the connection to the countryside setting. As you run along the low-traffic country roads, you’ll be rewarded with amazing views of rolling farmland, pastures with cows and horses and the lookout at Beaver Lake. The race start/finish and post-race fest are at the Emmi Farm’s Greenhouse with lots of parking, conveniently nearby- within walking distance.

The half marathon is mostly a loop course on low-traffic, country roads with many friendly neighbors that come out to cheer you on! The course is described as having rolling hills with a few good ones between Mile 8/9. The Half Marathon Relay is a 2 person relay with each member of the team running 6.55 miles (1/4 marathon). The 5K is an out & back along two fairly flat stretches of country road.

The Earth Day Half Marathon, Relay & 5K event benefits the Baldwinsville Meals on Wheels and the Baldwinsville Sports Booster Club.

Baldwinsville is located just 15 miles NW of Syracuse in Central NY. Baldwinsville typically sees temperatures in April range between the high 40's to mid 50’s.

USATF distance-certified. The 1/2 Marathon is on low traffic, country roads that are a combination of long stretches of flat and also a fair amount of rolling hills with miles 8-10 offering the greatest challenge (reward) as there are a couple back to back.  

Earth Day 2 Person Half Marathon Relay  
The first leg of the 2-person half marathon relay (6.55 miles) is relatively flat with occasional rolling hills while the second leg is hillier with 2 decent climbs at Mile 8.5 and Mile 9. Second leg of the relay will park at mid point of the race with the expectation that the first leg runners will then drive vehicle back to finish area.

The 5K course will lead you past the Beaver Lake lookout on Vann Rd and will be run on mostly country roads but may meander briefly onto adjacent farmland if conditions warrant. The country roads are flat with one moderately challenging uphill just before you enter the home stretch.

We have two wonderful charity partners for this event.

Our first charity is the Baldwinsville Sports Booster.  These awesome young adults are helping with this event to bring the runners support & high energy water stops.  We couldn't do it without them!

Our second charity is Baldwinsville Meals on Wheels.  They offer a local, nutritional service by providing balanced meals, an essential component for many people, so they can remain in their homes and community.
