About Erin's Purpose 5k
The annual running of the Erin's Purpose 5k. Erin’s Purpose was founded in June 2018 by Terri Neighbors after her daughter, Erin, took her life at the age of 13. In August 2020, a house was purchased in Bloomfield where the following services are offered:
- Christian Counseling
- Teen bible studies
- A place for teen gatherings or small groups to meet
- Public speaking in schools and other organizations about mental health and suicide prevention.
Awards will be given out for female and male age groups of all ages. Competitive walk awards will be given to overall male and female winner. All participants of the kids race will receive an award. There will also be giveaways at the event.

This flat, fast course is an out and back down two main streets in Worthington. You will leave the park heading south on Dayton Street and take that all the way down to Ohio Street where you will turn right and head west for one block before turning right and heading back north on Myra. You will take Myra north until you reach Worthington Street. At Worthington Street, you will circle around the cone in the street and head back south, reversing the course until you return to the park. When you reach the park, you will turn right and go around the park drive in a counterclockwise motion returning to the start / finish area.
