Family Promise 5K and Family Fun Day

The Family Promise 5K and Family Fun Day is a community-focused event that brings together families, supporters, and local partners to raise awareness and critical funds to support families experiencing homelessness and housing instability. The day features a family-friendly 5K run/walk along with activities for all ages, including games, music, food, and opportunities for community connection. The event is designed to promote wellness, celebrate community, and highlight the mission of Family Promise—keeping families together and helping them achieve stable, permanent housing. Proceeds from the event directly support Family Promise’s programs, including prevention, shelter, and housing services, ensuring families receive the resources and support they need to remain safely housed and build a brighter future.

Family Promise of Northern New Castle County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness for families with children. Since our founding, we have worked alongside volunteers, congregations, community organizations, and generous donors to provide families with not only a safe place to stay, but also the support and resources needed to achieve lasting independence.

Our comprehensive approach addresses both immediate housing crises and the underlying barriers that contribute to homelessness. Through emergency shelter, homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing, diversion services, career support, and personalized case management, we empower families to build stable, self-sufficient futures.

At the heart of our work is the belief that every family deserves a safe home and the opportunity to thrive. We understand that homelessness can happen to anyone due to unexpected job loss, medical emergencies, domestic violence, rising housing costs, or other life challenges.
