Why We Run (and Walk)

Family homelessness is often an invisible crisis, with children among the most vulnerable. Behind every statistic is a family working to stay together and provide stability for their children. Family Promise of Ogden helps families in our community prevent and overcome homelessness through shelter, resources, and personalized support that lead to lasting independence.

By participating in the Family Promise Fun Run, you're helping local families build brighter futures. 100% of event proceeds go directly to Family Promise of Ogden, ensuring that every registration, donation, and mile provides hope, stability, and the opportunity for families to find a safe place to call home.

Race Details 

Whether you're a passionate runner or a leisurely walker, there's a perfect path for everyone. Runners will challenge themselves on a 5K route that starts at the Harrisville Park Bowery, winds past the new Family Promise building, and then returns to the city park. Walkers will enjoy a relaxed one-mile scenic route that also begins and ends at the Bowery. Children under 12 years can test their running legs on the one-mile route. (see route maps below)

Our dedicated volunteers will be strategically positioned along the entire marked course, ready to offer encouragement, assistance, and guidance. Fully stocked water stations will keep participants hydrated, and first aid personnel will ensure everyone's safety and comfort. All courses end back at the Harrisville Park Bowery. After conquering the course, participants and spectators can enjoy music and refreshments and browse the silent auction.

Event Timeline:

8:00 am- On-site registration opens, silent auction begins (Cash or credit card accepted)
8:30 am- Pre-registered participants arrive at Park Bowery
8:45 am- Line-up at start line
9:00 am- Races begin
9:30 am- Meet/take pictures with movie characters, browse silent auction baskets, enjoy music and refreshments
10:00 am- Medals awarded
10:15 am- Silent Auction winners announced

Meet Children's Movie Characters

The characters will mingle during the kids' 1-mile race, then line up at 9:30 for a meet-and-greet. Race participation is not required for meeting the characters, and there is no fee. All community members are welcome! (Thanks to Besst Realty for providing this)

Medals

Medals will be awarded to the top three runners in the following categories (walkers will not be timed):

• 5k run (16 and older Female)
• 5k run (16 and older Male)
• 5k run (under 16 years Female)
• 5k run (under 16 years Male)
• Kids' 1-mile run (under 12 years)

Silent Auction

Bid on an exciting selection of items generously donated by local businesses and community members, all to help families experiencing homelessness. The silent auction opens at 8:00 a.m., with winning bids announced between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m.

Featured items include Brighton Ski Resort passes, Thread® Wallets and Ryze clothing, Minky Couture blankets, Onstage Ogden concert tickets, dining baskets for Dylan's Restaurant and Hug-Hes Café, garden basket, Cinemark movie tickets, Ute and BYU fan baskets, an Amazon shopping spree basket, hair and skin care baskets, book sets, and much more!
