FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5K

The 2026 FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5K is run in honor of the late Special Agent, Jerry Dove, who was killed in the line of duty in Miami, Florida, on April 11, 1986.   Jerry was a native West Virginian, and prior to his FBI career, Jerry was attached to the West Virginia State Police as an attorney advisor.  The race is dedicated to the memory of SA Jerry Dove and all law enforcement, firefighters, military personnel, and others who were killed while serving in the line of duty.  The race is sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Citizens Academy Alumni Association.

Final details of the race will be official at opening day of registration.  Changes may be made prior to opening day. 

PRICING

• $30 early bird pricing June 15th through July 17th, mail-in and online (guarantees shirt)
• $35 main registration pricing runs July 18th through September 23rd. (guarantees shirt)
• $35 September 24th - race day registration (will have extra shirts, no guarantee of shirt or sizes)
• Anyone interested in registering can do so, online or at the race. Registration will be held on race day from 7:00 a.m.-8:30 a.m. at the Visitors' Center.

PACKET PICK UP

• Packet pick-up for pre-registered participants by TBD will be at Holiday Inn Express, 20 Sweetbrier Lane, Bridgeport, WV 26330. Time TBD
• All packets must be picked up before 8:30 am on race day.
• Packets will include the runner’s official race bib, which will also contain their timing chip.
• Commemorative cotton, long-sleeved T-shirts for adults, short-sleeved for kids K, are guaranteed only to participants who pre-register online by September 23rd; thereafter, T-shirts will be provided to participants only while supplies last.
  • You will be provided with the size of race shirt indicated on your form if you are pre-registered.

• A kids' race for children 10 & under (50 or 100 yard dash, depending on age) will be held following the completion of the 5K (at approximately 10 a.m.).
• $15 Entry Fee.
• All children preregistered online by Sept 17th will receive a commemorative T-shirt, and ALL will receive a medal.
• Pre-registration is highly encouraged.

The FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5K race course is a somewhat challenging out and back paved course, starts and finishes on Jerry Dove Drive inside the East Security Gate on the FBI’s CJIS Division Complex. The race course runs along Jerry Dove Drive toward the main CJIS facility where runners will loop around a portion of the parking area and return to the start/finish area. Walkers will line up behind the runners and begin at the same time. 

A water stop will be set up at approximately miles 1 and 2 on the course. A warm-up/spectator area will be set up near the start/finish line. Due to the location of the race, no one will be permitted on the course prior to the start of the race, and only race participants will be allowed on the course after the race begins.

• Awards will be presented to the overall top three male and overall top three female finishers.
• Also, the first three male and first three female finishers in the age categories indicated below will receive medals:
  • 12 & Under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over.

Refreshments will be given out immediately following the race. The race will be held rain or shine. No refunds will be given.

• Walkers are welcome. No bicycles, strollers, or roller blades will be permitted.
• Cameras are allowed only at the start and finish line area.
• No cameras are allowed on the course at any time.
• Children must not be left unattended at any time.
