Feet for Flippers 5K

This year, our annual 5K will be both virtual and in-person! Join us to run or walk to support our mission. All funds raised will go toward the care and treatment of endangered cold-stunned sea turtles and sick or injured seals.

On Saturday, October 17th, please park in the Buzzards Bay Recreation Area parking lot off of Main Street in Buzzards Bay. Race bib and swag pick up will be just a few steps down the road at 120 Main Street, Buzzards Bay, MA. The race will start promptly at 10 am! After the race, we will have winner prizes, so be sure to stick around after!

For those joining us in person, the course is a USATF course!

While we won’t be including shirts with each registration in order to be more eco-friendly, we will have Feet for Flippers 5k merchandise available in our online store — in the size, style, and color of your choosing. 

For those joining us virtually, be sure to have your times completed before October 18th.

Registration cost is $30 until the day of the race. On race day, the registration fee will increase to $40 per person. Discount of $5 for children.

Individuals:

• Individuals who raise at least $100 will receive an NMLC branded Nalgene water bottle.
  
  
• Top fundraising individuals who raise at least $1,000 will be eligible to win the following prizes:
  
  
  • 1st place: The honor of naming one of our sea turtle patients as well as an adoption package (mailed photo and certificate) for that turtle and an NMLC 5k logo sling bag.
    
    
  • 2nd place: NMLC 5k logo sling bag and an adoption package (mailed photo and certificate).
    
    
  • 3rd place: NMLC 5k logo sling bag and a digital adoption package (emailed photo and certificate).

Teams:

• Top fundraising teams who raise at least $3,000 will be eligible for the following prizes:
  
  
  • 1st place: The honor of naming one of our sea turtle patients as well as a digital adoption package (emailed photo and certificate) for that turtle.
    
    
  • 2nd place: Digital adoption package (emailed photo and certificate) for a patient of their choosing.
    
    
  • 3rd place: Digital adoption package (emailed photo and certificate) for a patient of their choosing.

Fundraising winners that would like to upgrade their adoption package will have the option to pay to upgrade to either an Adoption Package (mailed photo and certificate) or a Plushie Adoption Package (mailed photo, certificate, and 8” toy).
