About Femmes Natales Runabout
The 47th Annual Femmes Natales Runabout will take place on Saturday, September 19th, 2026!
We’d like to humbly introduce Victoria Bourg as this year’s 47th Runabout recipient.
Meet Our Recipient: Mrs. Victoria Bourg
In keeping with tradition, we are excited and proud to host the 47th annual Femmes Natales Runabout on Saturday, September 19th, 2026. This year’s benefactor of the proceeds raised through this event is Mrs. Victoria Bourg!
Victoria Bourg has been a dedicated nurse for six years and a proud graduate of Nicholls State University, known for her compassion and commitment to caring for others. She is married to her loving and supportive husband, Claude, and is the proud mother of three beautiful girls who attend St. Genevieve Catholic School. Her faith in God, family, and friends remains the center of her life and her greatest source of her strength.
At the age of 25 Victoria was diagnosed with kidney cancer, a life-altering challenge she faced with remarkable resilience. Four years in later, in 2025, she was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, a chronic autoimmune condition that causes weakness in the voluntary muscles - often affecting her breathing, swallowing, vision, and mobility. Managing this condition requires ongoing immunosuppressive therapy, noninvasive ventilator support at times, and frequent plasmapheresis treatments, which have unfortunately led to multiple complications along the way. Her medical care remains complex with repeated hospitalizations at Houston Methodist, located six hours from home, placing a significant burden on both her health and her family.
Due to the progression of her illness, Victoria was forced to step away from her nursing career and her pursuit of becoming a nurse practitioner, resulting in the loss of her primary income. She is currently relying on COBRA insurance coverage while managing the high costs associated with her treatment and preparing for an upcoming surgery.
Despite these ongoing challenges, Victoria continues to demonstrate incredible strength and perseverance. As a devoted mother, wife, and caregiver at heart, she remains focused on her family while navigating the physical, emotional, and financial hardships of her medical journey.
Support from this community will help ease the financial strain of medical expenses, travel for treatment, and daily living needs, allowing her to focus on her health and her family during this critical time.
