Firecracker 5K & 1 Mile Sparkler Run

Join us as we kick off Annandale's week-long Independence Day celebration with the Firecracker 5K and 1 Mile Sparkler Run/Walk! The year the event will be held the weekend before the Fourth of July to complement and avoid conflicts with other community festivities. This family-friendly yet competitive event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.

Both courses begin and end near Annandale Municipal Park, bringing participants together for a fun-filled morning of fitness, community spirit, and patriotic celebration as we launch one of Minnesota's premier Fourth of July traditions.

The Firecracker 5K & 1 Mile Sparkler Run serves as a fundraiser supporting the St. John's Lutheran Church Children, Youth, and Family Fund, as well as other Annandale organizations and groups that help make this event possible.

To help keep registration fees affordable for all participants, race shirts are not included with registration this year. However, commemorative race shirts are available for purchase during registration through June 22, 2026. Be sure to place your order by the deadline, as a limited number of extra shirts may be available on race day, but availability and sizes cannot be guaranteed.

Our race routes start and end in the heart of Annandale's 4th of July Celebration near Annandale Municipal Park.

Street parking is available near Annandale Municipal Park.
