Footin' It For Family 5k

Footin’ It For Family is a nonprofit organization made up of family and friends. We first came together in 2012 to form a 5K team in honor of those in our families who had been affected by cancer. As a team, we participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Elmira, NY from 2012-2016. In those five years, our team raised and donated $15,500. In 2017, we formed a committee and decided to host our own 5K race to benefit our local communities. Our first year, we were able to donate $5,500 and this year we raised $35,000 for the second consecutive year! In our first nine years, we have proudly donated over $200,000 to the Ann and Carl Myers Cancer Center in Dansville, NY. We are extremely proud to support an organization which has benefited so many families throughout our local communities.

Footin' It For Family Changing the World One Footprint at a Time

Footin’ It For Family is an organization devoted to the fight against cancer.  We originally formed a committee in 2017 to organize a 5K in our small community of Cohocton, NY.  Our goal was to raise money to donate to the Ann and Carl Myers Cancer Center in Dansville, NY. We wanted our family, friends and neighbors in the surrounding communities to benefit.  We had 82 participants and raised $5,500 that first year.  Our event has grown considerably over the years.  In 2025, we had over 250 participants and were able to raise $35,000.  We have proudly donated over $200,000 in our first nine years. We are extremely proud to support an organization which has benefited so many families throughout our local communities.

We have many basket raffles available on the day of the race and a raffle for a handmade quilt! As we collect baskets their photos and descriptions will be uploaded here. Tickets can be bought beforehand or on the day of the race and you do not have to be a race participant or be present to enter/win basket raffles.

Tickets are $1 per chance or $5 for 6 chances. All proceeds benefit the Ann and Carl Myers Cancer Center in Dansville, NY.

Paper registration forms are available at the Cohocton Public Library, Cohocton Village Office, and Wayland Village Office. A PDF version can also be printed off and turned in to a committee member.
